Bonnie Hunter Winter Mystery 2022-2023: Chilhowie

I was finished with them...until I wasn't. figures there was a mistake in the first pdf, but they are easy, happy to do more today.
Can't remember if I said, I broke down a kit for my fabrics, didn't like the pattern. My first experience with piecing with batiks, I LOVE it, no strings, wonderful finger presses.
I haven't done week one 4 patches in case I need to add another color, I Think I have enough, but who knows, it's a mystery

I have 3/4 of my cutting done. I really enjoy working with the small pieces, sorry it isn't the thing for everyone!
I figure I have enough purples, oranges and neutrals for one more clue, then I'll have to start repeating fabrics. I'm counting on the aqua to lighten up my quilt.

I miss the days on yahoogroups when the math whizes would chime in with 33% of the yellow used, 80% of the black used etc
In fact I miss yahoogroups period
I had to laugh when Bonnie mentioned 100K members on her facebook group...remember when 2K members on a group was a lot?
Just stopping for a cuppa, have 1/2 of the second group of clue 3 stitched.
Sewbizgirl, I almost always sew with 1.5", 2" or 2.5" strips/pieces. Anything bigger seems ENORmous! But I enjoy making complicated quilts with small pieces, if I were in a hurry I'd buy a Walmart quilt, I still wouldn't used big pieces :0
Making my double sided Dear Jane in the late 90's ruined me for big pieces, and taught me the benefits of correct seam allowances and precision cutting. One of my most valuable life lessons.

I have finished clue 3….I dug thru my small piece scrap bags for the yellows and neutrals and now have a mess in my sewing room…but it felt great going thru those couple of bags. I really need to just pitch most of that crap…maybe today is the day.

QuiltBaer, I also wish we could see your photos. I'd offer to try to help, but I'm technologically inept. Can you describe the process you are following?
I guess doing a sampler really does change one's perspective, because these units seem pretty mammoth to me.
These will be my matched sets. At this point in the week, it always seems as though we have forever to do the clue.
