I'm half way through 6, all of 8 done. At this point I'm tired of doing flying geese. I think I'll finish 6 later and do 7.

I am about 1/2 done with the clue 8 geese. I'm thinking back to the beginning, and Bonnie saying the 4-patch was the foundation of the quilt. She had said this about the 9-patch from ORL and that turned out to be the center of the block. I think she also said it last year about the 4-patch from Good Fortune, which turned out to be a big part of the orange block.

Because of my extremely dark reds and blues, I think my quilt might have a rather somber look.
I'm putting the raspberry on top but I didn't realize it would make a difference. Now I'm confused!
I trim them down with my Bloc Loc. Hmmm................. what do you think?

I had to recut some of mine as the long slant did not go in the right direction to sew to right or left of piece. Guess I wasn’t careful in following the placement of the fabrics. Some days I’m like a bull in a china shop. I charge ahead before I get my mind in gear or before i thoroughly read the directions. Sigh....

It is good to know we are not alone in our little foibles and follies!! I had to redo some too... the mistakes will go into a scrappy happy quilt top!! So tho frustrating, not a waste!

If you are putting the raspberry strip on top and cutting with Easy Angle, then your blue wings will want to go on the left of the clue 8 geese, whereas they must go on the right. You will still be able to use them, but it won't be as convenient to position them.

I pushed through and finished clue 8, so I am ready for whatever will come next. I am having a contrast problem when I pair my aquas with my lighter med. blues. I had trouble finding that Scanda shade and most of my med. blues are lighter than the paint chip. I'm hoping this will not be too consequential.

joe's mom- I see what you mean.
I've never done one of her mysteries until now. Since most of mine are cut I'll see how it turns out.
Hopefully it'll be okay, but thanks for your info.
Your blocks look great!

I finally finished my clue 6 geese, set Bs from clues 7 and 8, and I'm probably better than halfway through the set As. I love all the colors coming together in this latest clue! I cannot wait to see how all the alternate color quilts come out!

I’m going to try to get the rest of Clue 8 done today; correcting as I go. A friend of mine is making the mystery quilt too (her first mystery) and she will be coming over sometime this week to cut out some more clues. She is behind due to holiday company and sickness. I’m glad she is not caught up or she would have made my mistake too since I am helping her with the clues. Some of my contrast is not the best so I might remake a few pinwheels.

One of the reasons we got the clues spread out over more time this year is because she didn't go right back to work after the 1st of the year. Next week she is back on the road, so I expect Friday will be the reveal with the answer to what to do with the remaining neutrals and how those specific cutting instructions and placements will turn out.

And now that the Inn is open and producing income she will better be able to see how she can shift her gone all the time focus. She and I have the same eye disease and I know from conversations with her this is one of the 'behind' reasons for trying to not travel so much. So maybe maybe the 2020 mystery will be spread out more again.

I do think this slower paced mystery is what we can expect in the future. It's nice to think of Bonnie not having quite as frantic a traveling schedule.

It's hard to imagine that the pinwheel isn't going to be the center of a block. I'm hoping for a supplemental clue tomorrow (maybe the neutrals?) before the reveal on Friday. Is anyone else thinking that we're done with the green and aqua?
