Char, I really like the idea of dropping a color. My gut level feeling on it would be to drop the aqua but now I've seen your no-green I really like it.
Once I got used to staring at the B/W/P flying nun-chucks or whatever they are, I could see that there is a little path vertically down the quilt, but I still don't see a secondary pattern.

When I referred to a secondary pattern (may be using the incorrect term), I was referring to that black on-point grid that is formed all over the quilt. The blocks themselves are not on point, but this grid gives the illusion that the quilt is done on point.
As white pine circled above, there is the primary block we construct, and the illusion of a second block created by the sashing and cornerstones.
char, that is really unique and interesting! I just love the colors you chose; beautiful fabrics!

Char, I think your example is giving this quilt what it needs. A place for the eye to rest. The yellow square that is made and the white squares that you added are stopping the vibration effect I see when I look at this quilt. Great job, I may copy you.

I'm just curious as this is my first Mystery Quilt.
Is there usually such a high number of people who dislike the reveal? Not just here on QB, but on the FB page as well. I don't see people saying they don't like the pattern on FB, but the number of people showing variations certainly gives that impression.
Not dissing anyone for not liking the reveal, and really feel for those who dislike it so much they're concerned about how/if to continue. I'm just curious if this is typical or if this quilt in particular is ruffling feathers.
