ladies, I have SO enjoyed this thread! I loved seeing the pictures, and recognizing myself in so many places. I never thought I could quilt a top, so I have several completed ones. I have limited funds too -- so I can't always just go get what I would need. I get "UFO Spin" and end up walking away from all of it. I have ideas, and I move on to the next thing, and it is just so nice to see that it isn't just me!!
without seeing this thread, I have finished a couple of table toppers that I had done just playing. I have my kindergarten collection on my design wall, and it has just been making me despair. How in the world do I pick up old projects where my skills were substandard?!! I love the idea of the 'reward' of a cutting a different fabric, or planning a new project, for having worked on/finished an unfinished one. I am going to try so hard to be productive today!! and I am subscribing to BOTH of the UFO threads! thanks again! |
Your quilt is just beautiful.
|
Ladies, I've been lurking on the boards and found this UFO thread and I think it's right up my alley! Currently I have four tops completed and ready to quilt, three quilts partially pieced, 17 quilts cut, and 18 projects with the fabric chosen but not cut yet. In addition, I am doing six BOM projects this year. Can you say overextended? Can you say ADD? Maybe if I feel more accountable I can get more (or something!) accomplished. All the quilts that y'all have finished so far are just beautiful.
|
Welcome michelleoc, sounds like you are in the right place, right here with the rest of us!! LOL, we are so happy to have you and look forward to seeing photos of your many soon to be finished projects!!
Tooooot toooooot, the train whistle welcomes you aboard! |
Misplaced my link to the progress thread so going to let y'all know I now have seven pillows ready to stuff for the show this fall. Plus I'm half done with adding sashing to a group of swap blocks from a couple years ago. So making headway on both current and previous projects. Feels really good!
|
I would like to join, but with my busy schedule, I'm not sure I can get one (1) completed each month.
|
I'm sure that's OK, Hattie. Do what you can, and join us to celebrate your accomplishment, even if it's one in December :) And check out the sister thread if you need encouragement along the way

We have a cat who thinks the sewing table is his bed too. I move him and he just jumps back up. He's usually in more danger from the rotary cutter than the needle though! He's a love though, so I can't get too mad at him. Love the growth charts. I just might have to try one.

Finished one for each month this year. Do not know if I can keep that up though. I would sure like too. Wall hanging was Jan. & Sunshine Feb. Now I am about to do one for a friend that has antique blocks of 30's prints.
|
Good job! Hope you're able to maintain the pace. Don't think I'm going to but you never know.

My Feb UFO is complete! I have 3 of these quilts - 2 made last year when I was writing up the pattern for it. This is the first quilt where I've done feathers on my long arm, and I'm very happy with the results. The only sadness is that as I was photographing I noticed that the backing fabric has several flaws in it, where the colour doesn't appear to have set. I wish I'd seen it earlier :(

Nancy, your quilt is beautiful!
|
Look at those amazing finishes! Lovely just lovely.

Wow. Just logged on whilst having a lazy breakfast to find this. I work with Linus UK so not only have my own UFOs but inherit others people's too. In fact I have some of the ugliest UFOs known to quilter. This afternoon I will settle down to examine the size of the challenge. Wish me luck. Regards to all, Jacki
PS It's a cold, blustery day in the English Cotswolds so quite a good day to start. |
Welcome Jacki! WE will so love ta see your UFO's converted ta FO's! We have a sister thread where we post what we are workin' on.

Fraew - I just love how happy your Christmas quilt is! Ya did good!
|
Thank you Michelleoc!
Fraew, beautiful quilt! I just love the quilting done on your quilt too! Congratulations on your finish! I am to the point of putting the binding on a strip quilt I started last spring for my February finish! Good job, well done! Doesn't it feel good to get those UFO's done and out of our sewing rooms? I love it! Nancy |
Fraew, your quilt is beautiful and the quilting by Charisma really makes it pop! So many wonderful finishes here.
|
Nicely finished quilt!

Wow, what a wonderful show to see all the fantastic finishes. I am attaching just the front of a quilt I finished that was started last July. I know bad girl. But, what can I say, had other things to work on that took over my life. It is being mailed to its recipient today. she is back in the hospital with the return of the nasty cancer. Praying for full restoration for her. The rest are posted on the Monthly Swap because Roberto did the embroidery blocks. Just did not want to bog down the site to much.

Very pretty, QuilterMomma. It will be loved. Good thoughts go out to your friend.
|
Thank you teammates for the compliments. :)
Nicely done QuilterMomma. Love the star sashing...I think I'll steal that too. Best wishes to your friend. |
Nice finish Quilter Momma
|
Oh QM your quilt is so full o' color! Just stunnin'! Ring the bells & sing the song!
|
Didn't think I would manage to actually get one finished this month, but I did! Can't say I'm particularly fond of it, but it will be snuggly and that's the main thing. I had tried the jelly roll race and wasn't overly enthused with the results so figured that made it a candidate for quilting practice. It came out ok but I definitely need lots more practice! Anyway it is done!!!
|
Such pretty finishes Fraew and QuilterMomma!! :)
|
Yeah! Mom-6 Great work girl. Snuggly is the best to me.
