Thanks, Carriem. It was a fun quilt to make.

mom-6 04-12-2013 06:20 AM

More beautiful quilts every time I get on this thread! Keep up the good work! Now if I could just settle long enough to work on mine . . . Or at least figure out which one I want to work on . . .

michelleoc 04-12-2013 08:18 AM

Bev: Beautifully done. Great job!

This is 9 Patch Novelty which is ready to be donated to Project Linus. The novelty charms were from a swap and I decided to use 9 patches to offset the charms. It was pieced in 2008. This was UFO Finish #40 since 10/1/2102! 54 to go and getting close to halfway up UFO Mountain! LOL

Emma S 04-13-2013 05:12 AM

Asimplelife: Congradulations on the finish. Love the nine patches and the binding tie the novelty prints together.

carriem 04-13-2013 05:56 AM

asimplelife--great job getting your quilt finished...on to the next one. :)

oksewglad 04-13-2013 07:07 AM

Cute 9P quilt!

Sewfine 04-13-2013 09:58 AM

Knitette that is a beautiful snowman quilt. I start one in November and never finished it because my points didn't match up. Thanks for sharing.

michelleoc 04-13-2013 10:18 AM

asimplelife: what a cute quilt. You are just buzzin' along!

SheriR 04-13-2013 10:28 AM

I finished quilting a Disney siggi quilt!!! I'll post a pic when I can get someone to hold it up for me. :D two more siggies to quilt!

Krisb 04-13-2013 01:41 PM

Mr third and fourth finishes this year

Both are blocks from swaps from this board. Actually did finish two for January and February, but forgot pics. The summery looking one really isn't that wonky--it just has been folded for a while waiting for its friend so I can drop them off for Linus.

Can you believe I only have three left? Well, not counting the ones left in Florida. If you want too see them bigger, click on the photo.

Oh Krispb! I recognize those blocks! I really like how you put them both together. Nice finish!

Krisb 04-13-2013 04:51 PM

YEp, some of those are yours. Still have Dresden snowflakes to set...DH wants to keep those.

Fraew 04-13-2013 05:26 PM

@Krisb: thank goodness someone is doing something with my blocks. :)

I'm at a standstill here. :(

carriem 04-13-2013 05:51 PM

Kris--great job on getting those quilts finished...they both are really nice.

oksewglad 04-13-2013 06:18 PM

@Krisb--nicely done on both.
I haven't touched CW swap blocks since they arrived--oh oh another UFO to finish

localgirl1 04-14-2013 04:51 AM

One of my many UFOs, I started to pin fabric pieces on a Goodwill Store bought vest over 6 yrs.ago, and I never finished it because I didnt know how to crazyquilt, but I have since been looking at books and utube, lol, it still has pinned fabric pieces on it . . . it probrbly dont fit any more, lol, but I still want to finish it. Wish me luck!!!!

michelleoc 04-14-2013 11:12 AM

Krisb: great job, the quilts look great!

ludlowquiltandsew 04-14-2013 08:56 PM

Asimplelife: what a pretty and cheerful quilt. I bet Project Linus will be really happy to receive that one.

UFO Finish #25 (how I like those "significant" numbers!) is Scrappy HSTs. I have to say that I really fell in love with this one while quilting it. I am not usually comfortable with totally random scrappy and this is pretty close to that for me - I think that's what I love about it! Go figure...

Emma S 04-19-2013 07:01 AM

Wow, 25. Something about it is very crisp and calm even if it is a scrappy. Love scrappies any way they come but can see why a non-scrappy lover would like it.

dublb 04-19-2013 07:18 AM

Lovely Finish! I just love it!

carriem 04-19-2013 07:28 AM

asimplelife--another fun quilt finished! Great job on getting so many done this year...I am sure it feels nice to know you're making good progress and it's only April.

michelleoc 04-20-2013 11:06 AM

asimplelife: the quilt is beautiful. Congrats on #25!

deedum 04-21-2013 05:35 AM

Wow, that is just beautiful! My kind of quilt!

Finished this UFO wall hanging up this morning. This started as purely experimental with orphan blocks and I think it turned out pretty neat.

Emma S 04-21-2013 10:20 AM

Kaelyn: It sure did. I especially like the way you quilted it to make the designs just pop.

oksewglad 04-21-2013 07:14 PM

asimiplelife--the long winter has given you ample time to get another pretty quilt done!
Interesting design with the green "experiment". Nice to do something different for a change isn't it?

ludlowquiltandsew 04-22-2013 09:17 PM

Karelyn, that is such an interesting wall hanging - you could keep finding more the longer you look at it. Great work.

April Finish

2 Attachment(s)
Here is my quilt finish for April...these blocks are from a swap I did with some other ladies on this board when we "finished" our Farmers Wife Pony Club blocks.

dublb 04-24-2013 09:02 PM

Carrie I just keep lookin' at it! It's so purdy! I gotta git my backin' ready so I can start quiltin' mine. :)

Lara122 04-25-2013 03:38 AM

lovely finishes, as always !! great job ladies.

mom-6 04-28-2013 04:22 AM

Got a good portion of the quilting done on the one I had picked as my April project, but that got bumped for one that I feel compelled to do for my friend Janet's daughter Misty who was one of the ones in the apartment complex across from the fertilizer plant. Talked to Janet yesterday and Misty is recovering well.

Emma S 04-28-2013 05:33 AM

Mom6: Seems to me, Misty's was the only choice you could make. Quilts are so comforting, and I am sure after that ordeal it is exactly what she needs. Please show us pictures.
I continue to echo the stars on my April UFO. Rough estimate, there are about 98. Means a lot of hand tieing off of threads. Can't seem to get any rythym going. Complain, complain. I am really okay with my progress.
Interesting thing I have discovered about my UFOs. I stop in just about exactly the same place everytime. It's when I have all the piecing done, and a few of the rows sewn together. Wonder what that is all about.

mom-6 04-28-2013 10:40 AM

Emma - do you think we might be sisters separated by time and place?? I usually get the top done and can't decide if I want to do borders or not. So into the UFO pile they go.

Emma S 04-28-2013 04:23 PM

Mom6: Not the first time I've thought it about you.

My last finish for April under the wire last night - Pastel Tulips. The pattern is from "True Friends" by Art to Heart (Nancy Halvorsen). I bought this in a kit and pieced the top back in 2002 (one of my 1st projects) but my applique fear turned it into a UFO.

Finally I can say I'm no longer intimidated by machine applique!

dublb 05-01-2013 05:44 AM

Way ta go asimplelife! No fear here!

Emma S 05-01-2013 06:02 AM

Asimplelife: Love your table runner! Really want to try applique in all its forms. Congrats on the finish and even more on your new skill.
Still quilting stars on my April UFO, although I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just hope its not a train. The quilting on the borders and the binding yet to do.

I finished 2 table runners this month....they are both Christmas scrappies based off the Flurry pattern by Kate Spain for Moda. It's a free pattern and somewhat addictive. It adapts beautifully to scrappy and using up Christmas scraps. Just a caution...it's easy to get carried away making the presents...

This one is super long for a Christmas table...more than 6 feet.

This one is more a normal table runner size. I like to add tags to some of them to be personalized to the family whose table it graces. On this one I used scraps and varied the size/style of the present.
