Wow, I love checking this site daily to see what UFO has been completed - it is so inspiring! My February finish is a Strip Quilt I started last spring. I have two more strip quilts to finish, then on to some BOTM's! I started with 11 UFOs - now I am down to 9! Yippppeeeeeeeeee! This quilt is 85X95. It was pieced using a FW and a Singer 319w in treadle, then finished with my Pfaff 1222e.

Wow... gone a few days and missed all of the BEAUTIFUL finishes posted! Way to go everyone... let's get those UFOs out of the their closets, drawers and baggies!
I've got 2 more former UFO now finished kids quilts to show. It felt so great to drop off 9 freshly washed and crinkly quilts at my Project Linus donation location yesterday! Cats in Dressy Hats and Cats on Skis are both made using my own pattern I call Noodle Recipe. The blocks measure 8" finished and the pieced blocks are made from 2.5" strips (noodles). I've made them totally scrappy before too. |
Some more great finishes! I am getting so close...just binding left on my February UFO...hope to be posting tonight, but probably will be tomorrow.
|
Wow on the finishes, I am jumping up and down with the bells in both hands just a ringing away for you ladies.
|
Great finishes, ladies!! Ring those bells!! :)
|
Beautiful finishes! Wish my phone would let go of my photos so I can post mine. LOL! Anyway I'm amazing myself with not only a second UFO completed but two small additional projects (a small "blankie" and a pieced celtic knot pillow) started AND finished.
|
Oh asimplelife! Now aren't those just too cute?:thumbup:Some kid is just gonna love 'em!
|
These are great finishes! I had decided not to try to finish a UFO for Feb because I had surgery on my left hand on Feb 19th. But it's doing well (but being used too much-I'm a quilter- enough said- lol) .
so for the last 3 evenings I have been working on a 22 yr old UFO. Had to do a pieced back & finished that last night. Will try to post pix in sister thread today |
What a yummy quilt BoJangles! I really like all the bright colors, especially the orange.

Just got my February UFO finished. I made my first block for the Farmers Wife Pony Club Quilt in Feb 2012, but didn't get many more made until March and following. Finished the 65 blocks (of the 90 in the book) in October and making 2 twin-sized quilts out of them. This is my first, the 2nd will have red sashing and I am saving it for later this year.

"And another ones down, and another ones down, and another one bites the dust!"
|
Tinkle tinkle, ring ring and ding dong carriem! I love that we get to see the stages on the sister thread; this was a fun one to watch.
|
Thank you all! I love getting those UFO's done! Yes, that was a very bright strip quilt. I gave it to my SIL, who loves it! Now on to the March UFO!
Asimplelife, beautiful baby quilts! And, Carriem what a great quilt - that would look perfect on my FIL's bed - in his little studio apartment in the assisted living place! Congratulations on your February finishes! Ding Ding Ding! Nancy |
My February finished quilt

I just managed to finish this quilt before the end of February. I was disappointed with it - I had quilted two butterflies into most of the white squares but when I washed the quilt the shrinkage meant that all the quilting became bubbles instead of identifiable butterflies. Oh well, tomorrow's another month!

Here's the PIG I finished yesterday--Memories of Yosemite. I visited Yosemite National Park last fall with my BFF and her husband. One of the stores had a package of 4 glicee printed reproductions of old postcards, so of course, I had to buy them. When I got home, I went to www.OldeAmericaAntiques.com to find more blocks. I just arranged the blocks, sashed them and this is the result.
I used 2 Stonehenge fabrics for sashing, backing and binding and a variegated thread to SID around the blocks and highlighted some of the details in the center block. These fabric and thread colors were perfect colors for the blocks. I've finished 2 UFOs and this PIG so far this year. Yay! On to the next project now. |
Two more very nice finishes!!
Rose--sorry to hear about the quilting/shrinkage. That's too bad. It is a pretty quilt though. :) Gramajo--I've never seen anything like the postcard one, that is a fun idea. Good sashing/binding fabric choices. |
Everyone's quilts are lovely! I'm so close...just need to finish the binding on my February UFO. Boy, I'm cutting it pretty close to March!
|
Ludlowquiltandsew - I bet that sometime in the future the reciepiant will "discover" the butterfly's & be thrilled. It is a lovely quilt! I have a tendency ta git upset when things don't look like I envisioned 'em. I have ta take a step back & "see" it as a whole. I really do like your quilt. The colors are just wonderful.
Gramajo - You'll remember your trip forever now! Such a wonderful quilt! |

I made it, just under the wire! I made this quilt using scrap fabrics. The pattern is from McCall's Quick Quilts Oct/Nov 2011 (as you can see, it's been a UFO for a long time!)and the pattern is called Melissa's Maze. Even though I only completed one UFO for February, I did manage to do six BOMs for February, so that's something at least!
|
Rose, I love your quilt even if it did shrink on you!
Gramajo, That is an awesome memory quilt. I went there with my sisters a few years ago. Wish I had been a quilter then and perhaps I would have thought to do something similar! |
michelleoc: love the colors in your quilt, so soft and pretty. Congrats on finishing the 6 BOMs.
|
WOW! Those are pretty. Love the Farmers Wife, yep can drewal on that one. Yep Gramajo, you will remember that trip more than just in photos, you can cuddle up with those memories. Michelleoc, that is very pretty.
Ring a ling for sure! |
michelleoc - How purdy! Is it a DP9 w/unique sashin' & special placement o' colors? Just awesome!

Here is my first big ufo that I just finished. I have been working on it for at least a year. I still need to put the label on. This is the front and back and a close up of the label which is an extra block. It is very warm and comfy. Yahoo!

Standing Ovation for all the quilts being finished!!! They are all so beautiful, I could just look at pictures of quilts all day long... ssnare Depression blocks are one of my favorites and I love your brights & black!
I finished 3 more UFOs for February yesterday... One little paper pieced table topper (Log Cabin in the Pines) and two more quilts for Project Linus (Scrapped Up Animals & Polka Dot Cats & Dogs). I realized last night that I've finished over 1/3 of my UFOs - started with 94 on 10/1/12 and now I'm down to 60. With one more month of winter (at least!) in northern Minnesota I'm hoping to be below 50 by April. Then my pace will start to slow down... |
ssnare - your quilt it just beautiful! The colors are so vibrant.
asimplelife - love your stuff, especially the puppy quilt - so cute!!! |
asimplelife: I like how you are keeping track of how many UFOs you have and how many you have finished. That's a great idea.
|
Thank you.
|
Wow!! Lots of finishes posted today! Keep up the great work next month too!!

This has worked so well for me. Most of my UFOs are lap size or smaller projects and I had a closet full of unquilted tops when I started... well over half of those are gone now. |
Oh ssnare! It's a wonderful use o' HST's! It just POP's!
Asimplelife your an inspiration ta all o' us! Such wonderful finishes! |
February I didn't finish any UFO's but still very motivated. I was able to get 3 quilts pinned and quilted 3 quilts, any progress is good.
|
ladydeluxe - good job, you still accomplished a lot!
asimplelife - you have inspired me. Next week I'm going to count my UFOs, and hopefully not give myself a heart attack! |
Thanks, Bev. You're right - I do like the quilt as a whole.
|
What a lovely quilt. I love the fabrics you've used. You did better than me on the BOMs - I'm going to have to do the ones for February and March this month.
|
Stunning quilt! What beautiful fabrics. Well done for finishing it.
