Great finishes! We had a health crisis arise with DH so spent the last day of Feb dealing with that. (Funny but he's my priority over getting a UFO finished-LOL)
plus it necessitated us going OOT. Oh well, love seeing everyone's finishes and I'm close enough to a finish on this 22 yo UFO that I surly can get it on the March tally.
Y'all are such great inspiration!

Finaly an UFO done

I have been a busy girl but none of my UFOs got totally completed. This thread motivated me to dig up swap blocks and finnish a quilt. This will be a picnic quilt and is made from blocks in a swap Deb Watkins did.

I even added a label. My appologies for the quality of the pictures. DH took them for me on his phone.

gramajo 03-01-2013 12:07 PM

Hey, Annaquilts, you may not have finished a UFO, but you're making great progress!

cannyquilter 03-01-2013 02:08 PM

Had family stay unexpectedly this week so was unable to get into my sewing room then I had a two day trip to the Netherlands so March 1st has arrived without me finishing my UFO. I only have a little bit of quilting to finish and then the binding so should be done by the end of the weekend. Then my UFO challenge for March is to finish the matching twin quilt (top just needs one more border, then sandwich and quilt and binding).

So many beautiful finishes, this thread is really inspiring me to get all my UFOs finished. I have a system and can only start a small project to run along side my finishing so I have the thrill of the new together with the satisfaction of completing the old.

QuilterMomma 03-01-2013 02:13 PM

Nice job Anna, ring that bell girl.

Ssnare, great job girlfriend, you are coming along. Love those colors.

Asimplife, OMG, you are really on a roll, keep it up! So now that you have five new projects to do, what did you pick?:shock::hunf:

Foxflower 03-01-2013 07:20 PM

good job with the quilt annasquilts. I especially love that backing fabric. Where'd that come from?

Annaquilts 03-01-2013 08:15 PM

Fellow quilters, thank you for your kind comments. Foxflower, the backing fabric I bought used. I mostly end up with boxes of scraps but in the midst of it was yards of this fabric. I really like it. It might be from 2000 or so. It is very fitting for the back. I am saving the strips left over to cut squares for I Spy Quilts. I gave one strip to my friend to use for kids quilts. The colors are just so happy.

narnianquilter 03-02-2013 07:08 AM

So, I looked at this thread a while ago and was like "Eh, that's not for me!" I am here today eating my words because I realized that my list of projects includes 4 UFOs! So, today I am working to finish the one that's been around the longest, a quilt for my daughter. I started it over 2 years ago!

BoJangles 03-02-2013 07:51 AM

Love everyones finished projects!

Ssnare, I really like the colors in your tied quilt! So bright and purrrrrty! I especially like your choice of border fabric - it makes the quilt pop!

Annaquilts, you did a great job with the swap blocks! Your quilt doesn't even look like a swap block quilt - it all rolls together very smoothly!

Michelleoc, your quilt is very soft and comfy looking! Nice job!

Asimplelife, jeeeeeeeze you are on a roll girl! What great finished projects! You are an inspiration!

Gramajo, very purrrrty Yosemite commorative quilt!
Nancy

Welcome narnianquilter, whether you have few or many, this is the place for getting those UFO's done. Hugs and smiles, we are happy to have you with us.

Ditto to Nancy's post!! I agree completely with everything she said, about everyone's finishes!

Sorry, I must of been asleep when I wrote this! I meant commemorative!

createfourpaws 03-03-2013 06:25 AM

I did manage to get a small wall hanging done, the center was an embroidered cross that was framed with purple batiks. It was given away before I remembered I hadn't taken a picture. The purples were from my scraps I have left from doing my purple gumball quilt.

I have 3 more to finish, these are gifts for special speakers at my Eastern Star meetings. I will get a picture of the next ones I complete.

March UFO

2 Attachment(s)
I'm not sure if this qualifies as a UFO - I made it last year using quilt as you go so all that needed doing was the binding. It's taken me six months to sew the binding on, but I'm so pleased that it's finished at last.

carriem 03-06-2013 12:07 PM

Rose--very pretty quilt. Good job on getting the binding done! What method of quilt as you go did you use?

stablemom 03-06-2013 01:38 PM

Well I found this thread 2 months late...but that's okay as I didn't finish and UFOs....and I have SO many.
I think my first challenge is to get organized, find them all, count them and finish something small for March.
That is my personal challenge.....now I am cringing....so much to go thru......okay tonight tonight I will do something tonight! Wish me luck!

stablemom 03-06-2013 01:39 PM

Ludlowquiltandsew....very nice!
I know I missed lots of other finished projects with 50 pages....BUT HERE'S A BIG WOOHOW!! for everyone who did finish some projects.

stablemom 03-06-2013 01:43 PM

PokerDiva....lovely quilt

stablemom 03-06-2013 01:51 PM

asimplelife...LOVE your ufo #2...just beautiful

stablemom 03-06-2013 01:53 PM

okay, i am now going to crawl into a dark shaft and forget about UFOs....asimplellife 13 done!!!!! Actually that is awesome , and you are inspiring.

wildyard 03-06-2013 03:07 PM

LOL, a big welcome stablemom. No crawling into dark places, now you are one of us and we are here to shine the light on our UFOs. While it's true that we have some spectacular members who blast their way thru those UFOs like TNT, most of us just plod along and get done what we can. So no matter what kind of UFO finisher you are, you will be in good company with many others working at your same pace. Well, unless you are a blaster like asimplelife and some others. Then you will be in sparcer company, but you will have many many admirers in the rest of us. LOL

wildyard 03-06-2013 03:12 PM

I am proud to announce that last night I finally finished the back for the king size tshirt quilt. Yayyyyyyyyyy........
Now I am planning to do my own modified quilt as I go, where I stitch the rows to the completed backing one row at a time.

Fraew 03-06-2013 03:39 PM

Yippee wildyard!!!

ludlowquiltandsew 03-06-2013 10:30 PM

Thanks, Carriem. I used quilt as you go in rows. This link may or may not work as I seem to be having dreadful problems with my website: http://www.ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/f...-rows-pattern/

ludlowquiltandsew 03-06-2013 10:31 PM

Thanks, Stablemom.

Lara122 03-07-2013 04:33 AM

Rose, that is so cool . ..

imagine my delight when I identified the flying geese blocks! love that pattern - it looks fantastic . . great job!!

Lara122 03-07-2013 04:54 AM

ha! now imagine how stupid I feel? I followed the link, and those little boogers aren't flying geese at all! (which is *even* more cool imo)

;0))

Celebration....

Whoopee - finished March project and only 7th. If I do another is it cheating to 'bank' it for the month when I'm being bone idle? Just a thought...... Regards to all. Jacki

carriem 03-07-2013 08:10 AM

Jacki--those pillows are very pretty! Great job getting them done so early in the month. I would get started on your next UFO and see what you can do...if you finish another it is up to you how you count it...either another for March or "save it" for later this year. :)

michelleoc 03-07-2013 10:26 AM

Jacki - your pillows are just beautiful! Great job!

Jacki 03-07-2013 11:17 AM

Thanks for the kind comments. My next UFO is so ugly that I don't think I'll have the same enthusiasm. However, determination I have plenty of so I'll have to bite the bullet. Thanks again.Jacki

stablemom 03-07-2013 03:41 PM

Jacki...i love them. so pretty with the white bedding

Lara122 03-07-2013 04:02 PM

Jacki, those pillows are art!! how lovely! I can't decide which element on them is my favorite!
yay, you!!

Fraew 03-07-2013 04:09 PM

Love the pillows Jacki! Tinkle tinkle, ring ring and ding dong.

Oh, don't do that! I have a closet full of tops so when I get on a quilting binge the finishes come quickly since I machine bind my Project Linus tops too. I look back and wonder what I was thinking while I was piecing all those tops... were they magically going to quilt themselves???

Now if I had 60 UFOs that were all king sized projects I'd be crawling into a dark shaft or just waving the white flag and looking for a new hobby. LOL

asimplelife 03-07-2013 05:58 PM

Love your pillows Jacki - they are so colorful and I like your pieced "flanges" (is that the right word?).

This reply contains a warning! There will be some serious whining.

I was in the process of putting the three layers together when I noticed that one row was backwards. The lights have been turned off and there will be some TV watching in my near future. Tomorrow is another day. At least it was noticed before the layers were basted together.

Sherryquilts 03-07-2013 08:21 PM

oohhhh... I hate it when that happens....
