That is such a colorful and happy quilt. I really like it. It is also great to see a RR from the board made into a finnished quilt. I always enjoy seeing fiinished projects or quilts made from swaps. I can see why your grandson picked it out of your UFO bin. Congrats on finnishing it.

This is finally completed. It was a RR on this board in 2010/2011. It is called Cosmic Dreams and now will go in my grandangel's big-boy room. He picked it out of my UFO bin himself...incentive for me to get it done! I love the work the members of this RR put into it...absolutely gorgeous!
Its big, so I couldn't get a really good picture. |
Oh Missgigglewings! It's just perfect for a boy! Such a happy quilt! Sing the song & ring the bells!
Love the work of Row Robins. They are such a treat to make and then to see the finished result. Yeah!
Love the new pic QM!
Well I can certainly see why he picked that one! It is gorgeous. Don't we love our incentive makers! I am working on one for a birthday girl who needed a teenager friendly quilt. She picked the autumn leaves swap blocks quilt from my UFO pile. So now I need to finish quilting it. Got two blocks in the center SID but need to do the rest.
I finally finished somethin'. This is a PL donation. I'm gonna count it as a Feb finish, 'cause except for a few extra FMQ ribbons, it was finished. I did those at my retreat last weekend.

Dublb--no picture? Good job on getting the quilt finished!
LOVE to see pictures!! that celestial theme is awesome!
That was because someone sent me a photo of what i was looking to do and so was able to get it done. It did turn out very wonderful.
Some great finishes! My goal was to work each evening on the UFO I'm trying to complete & this week it hasn't worked out. Maybe today.
Agreed to do a qwillo for a teen at church & she came by with all the materials (including thread). She wants something on the pillow part & I agreed to that, then she pulls out about 10 designs- to go on less then 18" that will show! Had to be the meanie & say "no". Be warned- set limits before you agree to do something for people who are clueless to the sewing realities. |

So glad to see all of the UFO finishes! I took a little break from actual sewing to do some stash organizing over the last week, my closets are a mess and I need to tame them a bit. I'll be posting some results from "Part 1" later in the Mission Organization thread.
Here is Garden Cats which is made from the free Warm Wishes pattern at Quiltmaker.com. UFO Finish #19 this year... 59 UFOs to go... |
asimplelife--great job on another finish! I too need to do some reorganizing, but will wait until it gets warmer as I need to move some things out of my "clubhouse" (12x12 shed) and don't want to deal with snow and wet floors.
Simple life: What a great way to highlight special fabric! Love the colors. Have been wanting to use some grey and purple together. They look gorgeous in your quilt.
asimplelife: your quilt is beautiful. You organize away...that will give the rest of us a breather from feeling bad that we aren't getting as much done as you!
Asimplelife...love that one! I like how the pattern gives it so much dimension!
Thanks everyone! I was going to donate this one to Project Linus like the rest but my husband liked it so much (which is unusual for him to comment on a quilt to begin with!) that I'm going to keep it. There could be a cat loving kid in the family someday right? The cat fabric is so pretty, I wish I had more of it!
Your a nut I love your block!!!! It's pretty and great work!!!

You really have made some pretty pieces there...I like them. I keep all the things I make that I think look dumb too. Silly us for thinking that cause they are not dumb I love all of them and the weave quilt I wouldn't even attempt that. I still have the first wall hanging that I amde in a quilt class and I tried to hand quilt it didn't work. Then I tried to machine quilt it OMG what a mess. Make pillows they would be cute :o)
QUOTE=Lara122;5920007]I love the twisted log cabin too! tempted . . . . lol I appreciate the encouragement, but what in the world do I do with these? I would not want to give them to people I know, I would be embarrassed that they'd think it was the best I could do!! lol my piecework on the green and mauve one is ok, but I finished it terribly! I should seam rip and it and re do it, honestly. =/
Well, finally at the quilting stage on my March UFO. Thank goodness I can't afford to burden a long armer with this one! Points, I don't need no points. Lumps at intersections, have a lot of those. Thread under the white fabric, how can you spend hours making sure all of them are picked off and then use a lint roller and still have a red thread under the white fabric? Where is my galloping horse? Sure going to need him to like this one right now.

I haven't been on this thread in ages - my new Pfaff (bought in November) has been in for repair since 9th January and on Thursday they finally decided to give me a new one - hooray! I'd put a lot on 'hold', particularly appliqué, which I'm now cracking on with :). That's my story and I'm sticking to it, lol.
No excuse for this baby quilt however - should have been a Christmas present :o. Santa's Elves had to write a nice letter explaining that the workshop had been very busy.................. |
Knitette: Your quilt is so bright and cheerful. The recipient will feel it was well worth waiting for.
Knitette, Doing a happy dance for you on getting your new machine! Your baby quilt is adorable. The baby will love it,
What adorable fishy fabric and love the bubbly stuff too. A perfect bright and beautiful quilt for a little one. Well done on your new machine and this great finish.
Blowing the whistle for all the finishes so far this month, you guys are sooooo inspiring!!! whooooooooo whooooooooooooooo |

Knitette - LOVE this! Such pretty colors and the quilting looks great. And, I'm glad that you are getting your machine issues addressed too!
UFO Finish #20 is this Easter Egg Table Topper made from swap blocks. I backed it with a big floral of tulips & daffodils in vases so I can flip it over after Easter for double duty! I need to toss it in the washer to crinkle it up. |
Knitette.... I love the fish.. so cute.
asimplelife.... What a great idea with Easter coming up.... |
That is a pretty nice looking warm wishes!
as always, LOVE the finishes! I just want to eat that easter one up!!
asimplelife - I can't believe how many UFOs you've done this year!( and beautiful too). Soon you won't have any................. ;)
asimplelife - your table topper is beautiful. There seems to be an added sense of accomplishment (for me anyway) when a quilt is made from scraps, don't you think?
Oh so many finishes while I was outta town! Horray! All o' 'em are wonderful! :) I really enjoyed lookin' at 'em.
knitette and a simple life are all those quilts ever cute!

For some reason I'm not getting this thread on my notifications--but I found it easily and have caught up--oh what lovelies both big and small. And with a musical fanfare I can say I have some WIP's done. Most of these are going to the NICU that cared for our GS that is already 18 months old. Finally good intentions are getting done.
A friend of mine gave me these 4 Looney Tune panels. I used lots of black and red as I learned these are great colors for babies as it helps them focus The last one is still a flimsy. The next one is scraps. 2 different block sets-one with a black border and one without. Love the crayon fabric in the border. Lots of "I Spy" opportunities in this one. I pieced the next blocks on a fabric foundation--no batting and used a cute transportation flannel on the back. This little quilt I call a "step" quilt, made of scraps and Thomas the Train on the back. And finally another flimsy just waiting for the quilting. Love the rainbow fabric for the backing. |
Thanks for sharing. I love the loony tunes quilts. Didn't know about red and black being good for babies - much more striking than the traditional pastel colours.

This is from a RR we did here in 2010. My grandson picked it out of all of my UFOs for his re-done pre-teen bedroom. Because he has a twin bed I took the last yellow border off and used the fabric for the binding! Worked perfectly....and he loves it! It is called Cosmic Dreams and I love what everyone added to make this an exciting and vibrant quilt!
Both beautiful quilts.
Love all of these. I love to make baby quilts in bright colors and I'm told the babies love them too.
OMG, love this quilt!

Well, finally - I have a couple of finishes. I had good intentions last year and I did start AND finish some projects that I had to do (like baby quilts and Christmas presents) but UFOs, not so much. Life and work got busy and as you can see by the dates on the labels I did 'finish' these last year, but I finally took the time to make the labels and finish the last two feet of binding. Gumballs is 104"x104", and quilted on my Bernina. Log cabin was QAYG, about 78"x91".
