I have fewer than you do, Nancy. But it's seeming to take me a long time to get any done. Company will be here again today.... so the UFO that I've been working on will have to be put away till they leave. Then, hopefully, it won't take much longer...... it's close..... I think I can, I think I can....
|
Go narnianquilter. You can do it! And don't forget to capture a picture as he leaves off to college with your gift in hand...very few prescious moments like that. :)
|
Narnianquilter - you are almost finished! You can do it. Fraew had a great idea, get a picture of him and the quilt as he leaves.
ShariQuilts and BoJangles - you have been doing great!! Keep up the good work. I felt that I was falling behind as well so I made a mini-challenge for myself to complete 5 UFOs in August (what was I thinking?!?!). I can probably do it, provided housework goes completely by the wayside and my family can forage for their own meals! |

Narnianquilter, your baby acessorizes his quilt beautifully. What a great aunt you are!
I have a near finish. Not a UFO except for that nagging to do list in my head lol. I'll quilt it this weekend when I get home to Texas. It's for my daughter's golf coach who has retired. Their banquet is the 24th! I think I'll have it ready for her to give him! |
Hi ladies, remember the other day when I said that I was trying to complete a UFO that a cousin passed to me years ago and that it was a difficult piece of work. Well, I finished it. I had to replace some of the fabric in the top. Add new fabric to complete it, but, it's DONE. Now, I'll find some backing and let my cousin LAQ it. But, it's completed pieced. Thank you for you inspiration.

Thanks for all the comments on my monster t-shirt quilt all! The fact is, I did quilt it on my regular home machine and it was a beast to do. I had to put chairs all around to help support the 10# wt. of the quilt. I did the 1/4" outline for the most part, as I had already done the quilting for the individual tshirt blocks before I sewed them together. So really all I had to do was quilt the sashing and borders.
Mostly I used the puddle technique, along with rolling the part that was in the throat. It helped a lot that I didn't use batting, as the t-shirt squares were already double layered and I used flannel on the back. The recipient lives in California so they really didn't need a "winter heavy" quilt. |
SheriR-your quilt is beautiful. The coach will love it!
|
SheriR, what great colors for a golf coach! Great job piecing and I love the sashing around your blocks!

Well here it is finally done! I even got a pillowcase done as well!

Good job! Has that baby gotten bigger since the last picture?
|
He has! When I took that picture he was still in newborn clothes. 3-4 weeks later, he SKIPPED the 0-3 outfits and jumped straight to 3-6 months! It was insane!
|
Wow, now that's a growin' boy! My son recently skipped an entire shoe size, so I know a little of how you feel. Good luck keeping up with him! You might want to start his twin size quilt now, sounds like he'll need it soon :).

Narnian.... great job!! .....love the UofM fabric. UofM is practically in our back yard when we're down-state in the winter.
Well, I've finally gotten my 2nd UFO finished. I really wanted to get them both down before all the company but that didn't happen..... and I couldn't work on the quilt when company was here. But I can start to work on the next UFO now...... Yeah!! |
Wow, Jean those quilts are perfect! I love your quilting too! Nice looking and very inviting room! Maybe that is why you have so much company - that room just looks so comfy, especially now with those matching quilts!
Nancy |
narnianquilter--great job getting the quilt finished!
nanna-up-north--your matching quilts look really nice in your guest room. |
Saw these on another thread nanna-up- north, and boy do these fit your neck of the woods. We drove your state this summer and DH enjoyed it. Great fishy quilts.
|
nanna-up-north: love the matching quilts. Very cozy.

Only have about 30 more UFO's to do. Did 1last month (before I joined this group) it was a giraffe from 1978 my oldest UFO . I gave it to the hospital gift shop. Working on a runner now, will post when done.

I just finished the binding on a wallhanging that I made nearly 3 years ago. The camera is in the car, so I will get a picture tomorrow. It is one of those things that's been sitting by my chair to finish for a month or so (since I found it in my sewing room)...so very happy to say "It's done!"

Here is the wallhanging I mentioned a couple days ago...
I met with a group of ladies and we were "pattern testers" for a new pattern...this is just a small section. We were just told to get certain amounts of fabric and didn't have any idea what the pattern looked like in advance. A friend of mine did the FMQ....it is much prettier than the last picture shows. |
carriem-great finish!
|
It's so pretty, carriem. .... another one to check off the list. Congrats.
I've been gone a few days and have a garage sale coming up this weekend. Then, back to quilting.... promise. |

Well, nothing like waiting until the last day to post. I got a few things done this month. Not that impressive, when you think that they've been in the "the top is complete but I hate sandwiching" pile. Once I started using Elmer's, things have been going a lot faster. Last month I found a previously-hidden bin with MORE BOM's!! OMG, so with the finishes this month, I'm down to a measly even 50 left to finish!First attempt at mug rugs. If I make about a million of them, I might start to make a dent in my scrap bins!
For this one, I had a black and white photocopy from some magazine with everything cut out, but no instructions. Hence, I don't know how long it's been hanging around or what it is called. We're all Ears from McCall's Quilting January/February 2013 made with flannel scraps. Michele: Some amazing finishes. I especially like the nameless on. Such bright beautiful colors and the boarder floral works so well with the other blocks. Congrats on all of the finishes.

Oh my! Impressive finishes to say the least. I really like the bunny one.... really cute. I wish I were as quick as you.... but I'm getting some done.... now to get back to sewing.
|
Carriem, congratulations on your wall hanging - very pretty!
Michelleoc, wow great finishes! I really like the no name one too! I just finished piecing my August finish so I will get it quilted and post it - probably sometime in the next couple weeks! Nancy |
