Jeanine, Such a lovely quit, congrats on the finish.
Rose P, I like the colors in your quilt and shams. Very pretty, I'm sure your daughter will love it. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!! |
Just can't get motivated to work on a UFO here lately. In a challenge with myself to finish a quilt for one of my DGS. But, I do love all the finishes that I see posted. Congratulations to all that have been able to get that worked out. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, enjoy

Another finish. It is twin size. I actually finished it on November 1. I started it in 2011. Long time coming. Finishing that one is what lit my fire! I am not starting anything new until I finish all of my UFO, at least that is the plan. On to the next one.

Congratulations on the two UFO finishes. Considering the chaos, you get kudos from me. :) Toot, Toot for your finishes!

Janice, I have 2 finishes for this month. They both are spiral table runners that were started last year. Needed a quick b-day present yesterday for a neighbor and forgot to take a picture. The other one is packed and ready to move to the new house. 3 more to go that have been around for a while. I don't know if I have posted this on the thread or not but we have bought a house and are selling the double wide trailer so I am packing and between putting this trailer up for sale and picking out new furniture its been pretty busy. We close on December 6th, they deliver all the new furniture on the 7th, so it will be a little chaotic for the month of December. I'll try to get them done before the years end.
|
Oh, ABSOLUTELY they are UFO finishes! :) Congratulations and Toot, Toot!
...Today I finished a couple of pillow shams that match the quilt. Maybe they should count as another finish? They certainly gave me a lot of trouble for such a simple project. The tops of them were done several months ago, testing the plan for the quilt. One of the booboos I made today was new even to me. I got one sham completely done before I realized I'd sewn two soft sides of the velcro into the same sham. I also made some pillowcases from the leftover backing, but I don't have a picture of those (not a UFO, anyway). |
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. If you are traveling, be safe! Hugs to all. :)

I am planning some sewing time for this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving, my quilty friends.
|
Luckily, no traveling for me. Thanksgiving tomorrow with family and then again on Saturday with neighbors across the street. Hopefully I'll get some sewing in this weekend as well. Meanwhile I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Just me and hubby this year so it will be a quiet one.

During 2017, I've been volunteered to piece the odd stash fabric for the guilds charity quilts. Last night I finished the last one!!!!!!!!!! Didn't keep an accurate count, must be over 30.

Petthefabric: Great job! I know it takes time and patience to combine the blocks.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that celebrates. Connie |

I think we should have a mini VQW from this site this weekend. We have 4 days. On Monday post pics of things we completed or worked on. What does everyone think? Happy Thanksgiving every one! Hope it was fun, filling, full of friends and save. Sending quilting hugs. If you don't celebrate, hope it was a nice safe day anyway. It is sunny and suppose to get up to mid 50's today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hubby and I went out to eat already and we are stuff. Hilton puts on a grand brunch buffet. Can't bet the price. |
2 more UFOs done!

Over the weekend I decided to just make the fabric wrapped clothesline trivets that I have been intending to make for over a year. I bought all the clothesline last year (or maybe the one before that) and pulled my long thin scraps out of the scrap bin and stuck them in a shoebox. Then put the whole shebang on the table with the vintage Kenmore and....you guessed it. There they sat waiting for me to just do the things. They ended up being a lot of fun to make, so I don't know why I waited for so long. I still have enough clothesline for 4 more, so I'm thinking they'll make some nice Christmas presents for the folks who are hard to buy for! And that will also finish up 4 UFOs in December!
I also put the felting attachment on the PQ1500s and got busy felting up some of the 14 year old bags of wool tops that I had been intending to use on a couple of UFOs. I spun all the yarn I wanted from them 14 years ago and they have been taking up space ever since. If I manage to get any finished pieces out of them I'll add them to the UFO total, for now, they're still unfinished... So here's the two that count as November finishes. Rob |
Petthefabric- those are cool. I like the way you fussy cut the horse fabric (I one had that same fabric). And I love love love the way you did the Koi squares in the Oriental piece!
Rob |
Wow, love the horse finish.
Those clothes line trivets are cool! Come make mine. Lol I have been working on five ufos that are three years old since i cant do much else. Surgery went well, took three days to get pain under control, cut cast off. Hubby has been so sweet. |

Petthefabric = Beautiful finishes. Congrates. I know a niece who would love to have the horse quilt.
Rob, nice finish on the clothes line project. I have a few I want to make. I did the same as you did. put the items in a shoe box and for me there it sits. It can be a January finish. I did get 3 UFO's completed so far. I have binding on 2 large quilts sewn on by machine. I also complete 1 small 3.5" name tag. Pics will be come soon. I need to take a pic of second quilt, then will post pic with my I-pad. I'll try to get another small project done if I can find it. I'm still rearranging my room and you know how that goes, (I can't find a thing). Anyway I like what everyone has completed. |
Rob, nice trivets! You may have inspired me to dig out similar supplies I had gathered at one time. I made a couple of shallow baskets when I first saw the how-to's a number of years ago, and that was fun, so of course I bought more clothesline, but then the next "sparkly" went by, as usual.
Can't do it yet because I'm working on a Christmas tree skirt and that's on deadline. |
Petthefabric, you really made creative and interesting work of those fabrics in your tops. They look as if a lot of thought and time went into them. I'm astounded at the number 30!
Also, I'd love to see the complete list of the wise words on whatever that is on the left side of the upper top. |

The horses is from a pattern origionally published as "Big Blossom Quilt"
The oriental one is my our creation, inspired by a book published in the '70's. Since my orginazation is so poor, can't find it at the moment. It used focus squares and common setting squares. Have used that book lots. |
Rob - your trivets are marvelous. I looked up the instructions and immediately said "nope, not for me". It must have taken ages to wrap fabric around the clothesline. But if you wanted to make me a couple in your spare time.... :D
|
Rob - I love those trivets you made. Now I want to make some, oh, guess not. Goes against my promise to not start anything new. Maybe just one won't count. . .

Here’s a pic of finished UFO. This is at least 7 years old, it was a bom. My second one is my 2.5” log cabin, after I made an adjustment to 16 blocks to get the center design. Many squares were from swaps on the board. Both quilts were quilted by a Laq. I used the tutor from this board for the 2.5” log cabin. That’s all for this month. My next projects will be smaller projects.

Way to go Happylab! Two fantastic finishes. I love the fabric choices on the first—who designed the wavy fabric with flowers— it reminds me of Jane Sassaman.
Rob |
happylab....great finishes. The LC layout is my favorite way to do LC with squares. I also use the tute from this board.

Rryder, LOVE the trivets! Great job :) Toot, Toot for your two UFO finishes!

Well, hello everyone!!
I've been really incommunicado this year, and have only a couple of UFO's completed (bad Leta!!) Anyway, I've been waiting for some special backing for a special project, and was wanting to start something new... but reminded myself that I had TONS of UFO's that needed to be finished... So, I grabbed one called "Jelly Roll Diamonds", and finished the top. I remembered WHY it was a UFO... the directions are less than stellar. Since it's loaded on my frame, I'm pretty much counting this as done... but here's a pic of the flimsy... |
Leta, congrats on the finish. That's so bright and cheerful.

I have a UFO for December. This is my version of the Underground RR. It was started in 2014. I am thrilled to have it finished.

Two wonderful finishes...way to go! Usually UFO's sit for a reason...glad you could see this one through, Leta.
I have a URR that I started years ago...pieces are cut and ready to go...told myself I had to finish a couple of other projects before I finished it and here I am...those quilts aren't done either. Thanks for sharing your unique setting with us, Kassundra. |
Kassaundra, love your version of the Underground railroad, looks nice.
|
Leta- beautiful colorful finish. Looking forward to seeing how you decided to quilt it.
Kassaundra- I keep going back and looking at your Underground Railroad quilt. There is so much to see in it and to think about. Wonderful finish! Rob |
