Patrice, beautiful!
Jmoore, I really love that quilt, nice finish That snowman is just to cute MtnMama. Great job you three. |
I live in OK, I don't shovel snow, it will melt soon. If anyone sees me shoveling snow, look for the pod, there will be a pod b/c I've done been body snatched. lol lol lol I do work for a living (as in not retired) but if there is to much snow to go, so be it, I'll wait. lol

Nice finish rryder. If the weather cooperates (which it doesn't sound like it will) I hope to finish one this week I'll root around for something small.
And by the weather I mean no more snow and wind snowing us in. I have spent way too much time with shovels this month! It's amazing how hard those drift become with some wind. |
Look at you ladies I take off and go to the MLK Celebration and you all get plenty done, proud of you.
PatriceJ, love your finishes. MtnMama1955, congratulation on your Snowman finish. Let's keep it going. |

Drop in on the 2.5 swap group here on the Board. There are lots of examples and ideas just waiting for you to try and to use up those 2.5s.

PatriceJ, love your quilt and retro fabrics. I am also admire Belfrybat's Easy Street and her color collection.
Wonderful snowman project Mtnmama. I managed to piece 80 blocks of my Nautical UFO quilt over the weekend. It is a throw size and didn't call for a border so I may just put it in a sandwich just as it is... |
I am a tad bit late..................and cannot do one a month, but I can finish SOME of my UFO's this year...........just started quilting for others, o my free time is now limited.
|
Jmoore, I love your primary colors in this top. I have a great-grandson ,almost 3, who would love it. Well done.

Jmoore, once again love your choice of color for you Nautical quilt, would love to see what you will choose for the quilting and the binding.
Kassaundra, to your statement on snow and the removal of it I totally agree with you. |
What a fine start to 2017, PatriceJ! Congratulations and Toot, Toot on your TWO UFO finishes! They're both beautiful. Love the soft colors of the first. How did you quilt that? (I cannot see it clearly on my phone.) And using embroidery on the red and white is a great idea. :)

MtnMama, if it's a UFO, it doesn't matter the size! I'm a little partial to snowmen so I think this is wonderful. Congratulations on your first UFO finish of 2017! Toot, Toot!
First Finishes of January 2017

Some were already in 9Ps, some in strips of 2 or 3, and many still single squares. I have these from 2 different quilts, one in pastels, and one in reds, blacks and whites.
I am eager to see your finish for ideas of how to use these squares! |
Love the flags; I look forward to seeing it finished. How long have you had the blocks? How do you plan to quilt it?

like your Quilt Jmoore

So fun seeing and hearing about all the ufo completions. Kristijoy..(pg 18 post # 171) Wow! What a roll you are on. I will never know what an empty shelf looks like. Belfrybat, (pg 18 post # 178) Really looking forward to your quilting spree. PatriceJ (pg 19 post # 184) your first finish is wonderful. I like that pattern and it looks like it would be a great one for me to use to showcase some of my cat fabrics (in the squares). Your 2nd finish is superb, also! Mtnmama1955, I love your snowman bookmark. Like you said, even if it is little it is finished. I am going to keep trying to make time to check in on here. I have missed all of you!

All done with Patchwork Party 2013!
These pre-cut blocks were collected in 2013. I made a few and let them sit, made a few more, and let them sit some more. Gotta love the aging process. I finished all of them mid '15, but hated the finishing kit that I had purchased = more sitting. I finally settled on this setting, found a block design for the middle and designed borders around the center; which required more sitting to figure out how and to be brave enough to conquer them. Months passed by, like many of my UFOs. I finally put it all together last year and shipped it off immediately to Charisma for custom quilting. More months...and finally at 1am today, I finished the binding. Whew and woo hoo! |
Fraew, nice finish.
|
jmoore, Beautiful quilt! I love the colors and the nautical theme. Simply beautiful!!

I did it! Signed up at the guild to participate in the UFO challenge. 10 slots filled with projects from the pile. I picked them at random from those I remember. (Pretty sad when you can't recall the UFOs in the pile because there are too many.) It will be like visiting old friends when I pull them out.

I really like those colors, Fraew. Upscale country!

Hi gals! Thanks for all the cheering on! The support around here is awesome! Yep...when I counted the 'not done UFO's' at the end of the year I as stunned to realize I had about two dozen! Yikes! Well...my shelf really was getting full! So I've abstained from working on 'new goodies' (that I totally want to cut out and get started with) until I get my pile down to a smaller size! I'm hoping that I didn't misunderstand the definition of UFO. I was thinking generally 'Unfinished Projects' that were filling up my shelf. These are from last year.
I finally took a few pictures. I've been working on bindings and now have 3 to show: This one my husband loving calls "Fox in Socks"! This is my own design, my inspiration was a fox I saw in the woods near our house. This one is part of Pat Sloan's Secret Garden Sampler. I got tired of it after about 6 months so didn't finish all the blocks. Decided what I had done would make a fine lap quilt in a different setting than the original QAL! And lastly: This is from the Rainbow Scrap Challenge that is hosted out there in blog land by http://superscrappy.blogspot.com/. I did the first month of blocks, but didn't really fall in love with the remaining months, so finally decided that the first months would look great in a quilt themselves. I've quilted 2 quilts in the last week and I have 6 more on my shelf that I'm hoping to get through by the end of the month. Then I can start on some new things! |
Kristi, congrats on the finishes. I like how you made finished quilts out of projects that you lost interest in.
|
Wowzer! Great finishes everyone. I've been away (as in working on non UFO stuff), but have finally gotten the most pressing new quilt done (except for binding which will be finished today) and am ready to get to work on the next UFO in my pile.
Rob |
Your sitting and pondering the quilt certainly paid off. Love the design.
|
Wonderful finishes on your quilts everyone....
kristijoy, I admire you ability to change your end goal in midstream...and move on...you still have lovely finishes even though they aren't what was planned initially... |
Empty up those UFO bins, lady.
Fraew, loving the Patchwork Party complete, just wishing we could see Charisma's custom quilting. I'm a follower of her work. Kristijoy, you are going full steam ahead, are you on this train or are you ahead of the train. Keep the good work up. |
Nice finishes Kristijoy. LOL you may want to rethink your salutation though since we have Rob in the mix. Not sure how he feels about being called one of the gals. Some guys don't mind. hehe
|
Love the finishes, Kristi!! And you are the only one who will know that they ended up differently than the original plan - everyone else will look and say "what beautiful quilts!!" It looks like you are our Engine on this train!! Alas, I think I'm the caboose for now. :(
Customer came by and picked up her first quilt - her second one was still on the frame. I had stopped in the middle of a row (pantograph) because the more I did, the less I was happy with it. However, when she walked in, that's the first thing she saw, and she LOVES how it's going. SO, I will not be frogging this one after all!! I have my longarm meeting this Saturday and we're meeting friends for dinner Saturday night, so hopefully I can finish her quilt #2 between morning and evening church services on Sunday. Then it will be the consignment quilt.... Then it will be the "Custom quilting" customer quilt #3. THEN... perhaps... I can get some UFO's knocked out. For those of you who are in the Charlotte metro/Upstate SC area, Foust Textiles in Kings Mountain will be having their "open to the public" sale Feb. 10 & 11. I hope to get a roll (or maybe two?) of batting, and possibly some wide backing. If I get the backing, it will kind of/sort of knock me "off the wagon" of the Fabric Moratorium. I have SOME backing... enough to finish 3 queen quilts... but if my customer base continues to grow, that will run out pretty quick. And it's nice to have something on hand that's neutral enough to go with most anything. Oh well, we'll see how that goes. |
