Wedding quilt binding done!! Yea! Not sure if I would categorize this as a UFO since I couldn't sew due to the move....but it is done and ready to be wrapped.
Got 2 WIP going...plus a BOM that I finally found in a packed box...so I'll catch up with these projects and "get'r done." |

Such lovely finishes for June. I love all of them. I counted a total of 10 UFO’s completed for this month. Let’s see if we can beat that number for July. My goal number for us is 20 total. Do you think that is doable?
I’m finishing up on my pink baby quilt. Still have 2.5 blocks to quilt. But it got interrupted with other things. I figure I will have several more finishes this month after I get my quilting machine set up downstairs. It should be set up and ready to start using by the last week of the month. Then a few classes and I will be ready to go. Fyi: I went to a quilt show last month and they had flyers of an app called “Quiltful.” It lets you put in your very basic steps you have completed or working in a ufo list. It’s the best app I have seen for this process. I know it works on I-phone, unsure about other phones. I have too many to mention here. Anyone one else have this app? |
WMU = nice log cabin #682.

Good morning UFO'ers, happy fourth and make it a safe one. Since I'm on the board I might as well say greeting to everyone. I signed into the Virtual Quilters thread and lurked at the Scrappy Irish Chain thread. So, now it's time to get busy and sew a little. I am still working on these 20 yo project and finally found some match blue at the 'Hobby Lobby' for a reasonable price. Hopefully, I can make progress on these things. They are only child-size quilts and the child is an adult now.
Stay safe and enjoy your day everyone Cherryb |
I finished what is, in my mind, a UFO this morning! It's a table runner made from 3blocks left from my Unwind quilt. I didn't use them in the quilt because I forgot that the triangles are directional & cut some out of folded strips of fabric. I could tell the difference so decided not to put them in the quilt. Instead, I used some other fabric in the blocks, completely different from the greens in my quilt. They made a runner that is just shy of 36" long. Today I put on binding, the only step left to complete it. I quilted it prior to quilting the actual quilt as a practice piece. I'm pleased with it & will try to attach a photo later.

Happy 4th of July to all. I have only 6 hexi flowers to make so I should finish those today. Then I can work on quilt top. Seems like I've been making Hexis forever. Lol.. Have a beautiful day!!
|
I hope all had a happy and safe 4th of July extended week and weekend. I’m still working on a baby ufo. Now I’m need to fmq 1 more block and the border. Then I have 2 more UFO’s baby quilts to complete. Trying to make my long UFO list smaller. Enjoying my lovely warm July weather.

Took 7 quilts to "comfort quilts" last night. They haven't been UFO's long, but still have been sitting for months just making the collection of UFO's larger. There are now 17 to go for comfort quilts, most are at the quilting stage. One needs a back, then quilt, one needs soom time with an instructor so I can learn machine embroidery quilting. Several are kitted. All of these are to reduce stash without buying anything to go with the fabric I already have.
With those 7 finished and out of here, my space looks better. Yeh! to me! |
Congrats, PTF! Nice accomplishment.
|
Lots of sewing by some folks going on. Congrats on the finishes!
|
Well done, petthefabric!
My hexi's are done...now making 4P's...and I finished all the blocks on another quilt. Making progress. |
Congratulations, petthefabric!
I have 3 UFO's but way too many WIPs. I thought I would get a lot finished this summer but I have been out of town quite a few overnights helping my niece and her husband by running their girls around or just hanging out with them at their house. Precious memory time. I also have been taking classes at my LQS and that uses up time too but it has been so much fun. I have made 3 different types of bags, working on a 10-week block quilt, learned how to free motion quilt, started a tea towel, and made a cork billfold. I still have a few more classes to go in July. It was definitely a good choice to buy the Summer Pass because most of these classes were included in the $149 pass purchase. |
Congrated PTF on your seven finishes. Yea!
I have been busy thinking of finishing my BHMQ-GF top, WIP. I only have 2.5 borders to sew on and I'm done. Still debating on one of the borders. I really enjoyed sewing that project. Probable why it's taking 2/3 of the year so far to sew. I finished a pink baby top, WIP. I'll quilt it in a week or two. On another Pink Baby quilt I just need to finish FMQing on one 12" block and the border and that UFO will be completed. Went on a Mini Shop Hop. It was a nice trip around the area, Perfect weather. Enjoy sewing everyone. |
I would like to join--even though the year is half over. I deployed last year, so I have kinda been out of pocket. Since getting back in February, I have finished 4 (gotten them back from the quilter and gifted already ). This past weekend, I finished putting borders on 2 that were two and three years old. These are ready to go to the quilter's. This is what I count as no longer UFOs! :D
For my continuous UFOs, I have: 2 Saturday Samplers (three years old) 3 or 4 Strip quilts 1 Embroidered horse block quilt 1 Embroidered car block quilt 2 Panel-themed quilts 1 Halloween quilt (11 yr?) That is the count I can remember for now. I know I won't get all of these done, but I can kick out some of them in the next 5-1/2 months! |
Thank you for your service, Madeline!
|
Welcome, Madeline, and thanks for your service.
|
Welcome Madeline! We all work at our own pace, some faster some slower. Me, right now I think I'm in idle I don't think I have finished anything in 4 months. But I am getting my sewing room cleaned and organized.
Happylab - Love the 3 finishes you did a awesome job! Quiltmouse - 159? and the oldest is 47 years? You have a outstanding memory! I'm with Teen cheering you on! Teach - 3 Quilts in 4 weeks? Did you eat or sleep? and the log cabin is great! Conchalea - Congratulation on rescuing orphan blocks from being a long term UFO and getting a table runner. Love to see pictures soon of both the runner and the Unwind quilt. Petthefabric - Way to Go!!! Teen - How is the house coming? Are you liking the new area? |

Welcome home, Madeline...a thousand thank you's for your service. And, welcome on the UFO train...
Dedemac....home build is going great and I'm loving the Northwest!! So happy here but miss the sister and mother-in-law we left behind. Going to see them next week so all is good! Thank you for asking! And...thank you for your service, too! I'm a Navy brat...lol.. Still, working on hexi and daisy projects. Hexi 4P backgrounds are done...now just need to sew hexi flowers on them. I really like it so far. Trying to squeeze in sew time in between house build stuff. |

Welcome Madeline, and thank you for your service.
I've been so busy fabric-chasing to complete those two 20 yo projects, till I feel that I am peddling backwards. One of the project is a self-improvised and that's why it can't come together. No pre-planning of direction or design. I just got to keep at it and when it comes together I will take pix of it and post them here. Happy Sewing everyone---Cherryb |

I got an A+ for this past weekend! I got the two 3yo Saturday Samplers done, one 2yo Saturday Sampler done (I forgot about this one), and one that was a quick request for a sick Uncle.

This final one is one that finally came back from the quilter. It is a graduation gift for one of my cousin's kids. I have one more to be all caught up for graduations--at least for two more years. That is all that I have pictures of for right now. |
Those are great quilts for graduation presents, Motorcyclemad. Congrats on finishing!
|
Nice finishes, Motorcyclemad.

Whoo, Hoo! What a busy week-end and nice finishes!
|
Madeline, nice finishes
Happy sewing everyone---Cherryb |
Wow, Madeline. You got so much accomplished and every one of the quilts is beautiful!
I am inching along on my current binding and have finally reached the last side. |
Such pretty finished quilts Madeline and welcome home.
I will post pics of my 3 finishes tomorrow (need to take pics). Around the 2nd, I will post number of our UFOs for July. FYI: If you consider it a UFO, I consider it a UFO. Just double check our guidelines on the 1st post. |
Thanks for the welcome! I have always enjoyed the inspiration that comes from the board and I love to see how well everyone does with their goals. This is the first time I have felt like sewing in a while, so wish me luck.
I inherited some squares from a friend--When I say some, I mean a trash bag full. The ATW was out of those. I am currently going through the remainder to see what else I can make. I am looking at about 3 or 4 more . You can add that to my list of UFOs ;). |

Very nice UFOs posted here in the last week!
I finished a baby quilt my mom started last week so I am calling it a UFO...she's had it cross-stitched for over a year and didn't know how to quilt/bind it so I got that job. :) I did a little other sewing...hired to make a baby quilt (not UFO, got done in 2 weeks) and making another baby quilt for my sister who just had her 6th child! I should get that finished up today or tomorrow...then back to a UFO... |
carriem, I love that baby quilt! So very cheerful.
|
Cute quilt, Carriem....6 kids? Gracious...
Not much sewing going on here...home build is keeping me busy, trip to Calif etc. All I'm doing is creating UFO's and I hate it. I still have 2 quilts that are WIP but if I don't get to them soon, they'll be labeled UFO's. Even if finished, I can't quilt them until I unpack my big machine. Think I'll just take to a LA when finished and give me peace of mind. Lol.. |
Lovely indeed Carrie! We've just had a couple embroidered baby quilts done at the shop and finishes like yours just take them up a notch.
LOL Teen with UFO's! You have me laughing. FYI our guild is having a UFO challenge for the year...will see how may take up the challenge? I'm starting off the meeting with some of mine and how/why they happened, how to handle them and how to prevent. Do you want to come and visit us in September? Oh to be fair 2 of the 4 on the program committee do not have UFO's. Like you, they are so much more disciplined than me! Motorcyclemaid you not only finished UFO's, you finished big UFO's...Kuddos! |
Carrriem,
That is the most adorable finish. Great Job!

Oksewglad--You would think I am from Texas. I go Big or I go home! ;) I also finished another ATW and 1 Strip Quilt this past weekend :) . I just need to get the pics up and posted. The strip quilt gave me a few fits, but I rolled with it. You will see what I mean. |
