oh I can't even begin to think about a quilting plan until I see the finished top, complete with borders. I may also add a border or two to fit the Queen bed in the guest room.

I wasn't all that thrilled with the clue #4 unit, but it sure looks nice with the coral triangle added!

sewbizgirl, I picked up the term 'shaded 4-patch' from the Deb Tucker video on how to make the unit, that was posted a few pages ago. I agree, it is an odd name. Tucker also mentioned a few other names the unit goes by.

Sue, I love those 9-patches. I can't wait to see your quilt come together.

Alright, another clue is done. I am glad to have it finished so I can mess around with some other projects. My curtain yardage is tumbling in the dryer as I type, I will get it pressed tonight and hopefully start sewing it into 4 panels tomorrow. I would also like to get back to playing around with rulers. I have had a sample sandwich under the needle on my 201-2 for weeks now:-) So many things I want to play with and so little time.

Sweet 9 patches, Sue. Awesome neutrals!

Lisa, thanks for the explanation of where the name, shaded 4 patch, came from. I guess I'm still not too old to learn something new!

I got my Clue 6s done and half of them trimmed. Will finish the rest tomorrow. That blasted trimming is so tedious, I just can't do it all in one shot.

Hey, there’s a clue 7 this morning!

She calls it Rapid Fire. A clue a day. Sew two geese together, brown on the bottom, press toward melon.

Good news. Supposed to warm up in mid January.

Bonnie also says:

by Keeping it a mystery.

You are welcome to think your own thoughts, speculating about what this quilt might look like when done, but please do not post your ideas to your blog or other social media until after the reveal, okay?

She also says more but you should really read it for yourselves....

NZquilter 12-30-2017 06:27 AM

Thanks for posting that, Sandra. I hope everybody respects it but I'm going to avoid looking at the Quiltville FB page for the next couple of days just in case someone will accidentally post something! Besides I have a bit of work to catch up on if Bonnie will be posting a clue a day. Now this is getting exciting!

You are welcome! I have not even put any of my units together in any way because I love the mystery. My post will probably be edited as Bonnie does put the word "keeping" in capital letters and it may be misconstrued as shouting. I copied and pasted from her blog so it is her words. There is more she says and she is absolutely right. For her to give us this each year then have someone on social media post their "guesses" or "maybes" or even just trying to show the colors together " in their own way" is showing the possible reveal and that is what she is trying to get people to stop doing. I love to see everyone's units, their fabrics they are using, the help that we give each other in completing the units but I skip over anything that has to do with putting them together. Happy piecing everyone!
