I love cranberry anything. Love the relish on toast for breakfast, on vanilla or strawberry ice cream. On plain bread and butter. Just give me a spoon. BUT now that I'm on blood thinners am told not to indulge.

My "Farm Journal Christmas Book" that I bought in 1970! It's so worn & torn I paid $5.95 for it. I was in a Doubleday Book of the Month Club. If you can find one of these you will have a treasure. Page 58 has this basic recipe and many uses. I have used this book every year since 1970 I love it. We never can leave the relish alone for more than 3 or 4 hours!!! If you happen to find this delightful book try the quick bread, angel food dessert etc all made from this basic recipe. Love your post and just had to add to it.

Oh yes! I just wash mine really well, cut in wedges throw it in the food processor with the peel on. It was my job as a kid to put the orange wedges in the grinder when my mom made this.

I've never added apple to mine. Will have to try it. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Ladies, I have to tell you, I made this 2 days ago. This is the best cranberry relish I've ever had! I will never make it any other way again. I'll never be able to eat the canned stuff again. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us.

I'm making this too....only I add raspberry jello and crushed walnuts. My cranberries are frozen first.
