It's not a bad idea. I was watching a quilt program, either a recent one, or an older recorded one, and the woman demonstrating her technique said that she had used a permanent marking pen, black I think, on her quilt and it was fine. I've even seen quilt teachers use fabric marker "stitches" on quilts. Why not. It's your quilt and I'll let you know if the quilt police come around. lol.

Be careful! I actually used a permanent marker to recolor some navy fabric once, and it bled through to the white thread on the front of the quilt! I say leave well enough alone or you may end up with a bigger mistake than you started with!

Appliques are great for hitting bluddlers.

That's why I hate to SID. I much prefer to stitch 1/4" away from the ditch one or both sides when possible. I find I have a much straighter quilting line and it looks better on the front and back. But, I wouldn't hesitate to use that fix if I needed to.

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not quite as bad as I thought. The reason I assumed it was a bad idea was because the voice inside my head whispering to go ahead and do it sounded a lot like the voice that whispers to do other stuff that I KNOW is bad for me!

I have a large variety of permanent makers for that very purpose. It's perfectly acceptable...so touch up away!
