Found my table! Now my little FW has a home of her own.

Guess I'll start hunting for a table for her twin. (This thing never stops).

1953 - my first one. It was the gal's Aunt's who passed away in her 90's. It is all scratched up from where she must have done the wrap something around the head and hold your pins there thingy. It also has some spots of what looks like blue paint. Craig's list purchase.

1950 - This one actually does have a centennial badge on it. Another one that just sewing beautfully. eBay purchase.

1964 - Celery Green. Another eBay purchase and the one I paid the most for.

I use them all. I swap them in and out as my mood seems fit. When a friend of my 87 yo mother had a problem with her cheap Singer, mom wanted me to lend her one of my FW. I told her why don't you "lend" her your Janome instead? Hands off my FWs!!!!

I picked up a Featherweight Centennial after loosing bid after bid on Ebay. Someone would swoop in at the last moment and buy it right out from under me. Then I went to Craig's list and bought one from a retired Singer repairman who now worked from his garage. He was the nicest man. I told him to keep an eye for another because I had friends who might want one. He found me another one with the original box, tools, and manual. It smelled musty but I put cinnamon pine cones inside the box and closed it up. The smell was better but it wasn't until I put it in a sunny window for a few months that it smelled OK. I passed the machine (without the case or manual) along to a friend. Now, every time my Bernina breaks down or can't handle the job, I switch to my Featherweight. It has been well worth the money.

I have a FW 1947 I had gotten EBay for a Buy it now price of 274.00 I was able to pick it up so no postage. Looked to begin good shape and was! Came with case and a few extras. Also have a singer301 short bed that had been recently serviced and it is a joy to sew on, no problems at all! Having fun alternating using them to get a feel what each can do!

Just received a beauty which I won on eBay. It came in a nice (though not pristine) case and included the manual, several attachments and a couple extra bobbins. The case has a musty odor to it, so it's sitting open out in the garage for the time being. Also, I had to order a bobbin case for her and I'm still waiting on that. In the meantime, I plugged her in (right away) to test the foot pedal and light. She hummed away perfectly and I was so tickled, I did a happy dance around the room.

Her serial number is AK994786 which, oddly enough, isn't included in ISMACS serial number database, but I figure she must have been produced in August of 1952.

Here are the photos of her from the eBay ad. I just found her birth date on another site...August 11. 1952. I wish it had been August 7th. That's my daughter's birthday. I have yet to name her. It'll come to me.

Thanks for the link to April 1930. I just ordered an attachment that allows me to use my snap on feet from another machine.
