I love looking at them! I bought a bunch...used most in swaps on a group...the rest I just can't seem to use...Had a bunch out today...gonna put in a quilt...ended up using prints.

I like batiks in small quantities. Every now & then I see something done in them that I just love but they're not my first choice usually.

I don't think you have to justify your likes or dislikes - if you don't like them, you don't like them. I quite like them whilst knowing that they are not suitable for every project.

Take them or leave them. Mostly leave them - in the store. Small pieces have worked in a couple of projects I've done, but in that case I can get by with a fat quarter and not have any left over taking up space in my stash.

Generally I like/love them ... but some batiks are really not very attractive. My biggest issue is they bleed .... the deeper the more beautiful the color ... the more they bleed. I dislike that I have to spend additional $$ on Retayne just to get them to stop bleeding.

I like the batiks, so many of them are simply beautiful. BUT....there are many that just don't do it for me. I think batiks are great for backings as you can find one that has many of the colors from the top.

I love batiks because they allow so many coordinating fabric with them. But, yes, it's one more piece of fabric to spend money on!

I've always found batiks more difficult to work with because they aren't as soft as normal fabric.

In general, I adore batiks. Like all fabrics, some patterns/colors I like, some not so much. But I have made several batik quilts and they are among my favorites.
