My mom saved those also. In fact I think she saved everything, bread sacks, plastic ties...you get the picture. When we were going thru the house, we found several "saved" green stamp books that were no longer redeemable.

Yup I remember them. I don't remember if we actually used them for anything but I remember the stamps.

That's so funny. I remember the towels and little ceramic dogs that you could collect out of, I think it was Red Rose tea bags and a real prize in Cracker Jacks. Oh, if our kids even had a clue. So funny.

I remember wanting to play softball as a kid. M mom being a single parent couldn't always afford to just go out and buy what ever we wanted. So she and my grandma saved the stamps. She was saving for new pots and pans but used them to get me and my sister ball gloves. I will never forget them they were red, white and blue. I played ball for about 15 years. Green stamps made it possible. Anyone remember the ceramic brown bean pots with the hot plate they sat on? My MIL still has one.

I have a lot of the little metal toys that my Dad saved from Cracker Jacks when he was a kid. And I agree the glue on the stamps tasted terrible, but we willingly licked them to get those goodies!

I loved those stamps! When mother passed away last July, I found some in her sewing box (I think this is actually a tackle box she took from my dad)
