I was never told I had it but, I was sure I had it or something very similiar. Used an ace bandage daily for several weeks. then at night I would get a rice sock hot(like wow all most too hot) I did this for several weeks. It got better and if it flairs up a bit I wear the ace bandage and start the hot packs,
I quilt, hand quilt, crochet and knit. Mostly quilting but still can't resist a few little crochet flowers and coasters and such. Hope this helps you would love to know ....

I also had the surgery, one hand at a time. It was a small inconvenience for a total cure!! I did use the braces (at night) that I bought in a drugstore for several years with good success, but after awhile they did not work. My incision was 1/2" right on my wrist....piece of cake!!!!

Thanks for all the information. My Thumb, index and middle finger tingle. I think I will try the Super B complex and B6 l00 mg daily and see if this works for me. I was a typist and hand quilter.

I had ct in both hands. Had surgery on right hand about 6 years ago. Just had surgery on left hand yesterday. Typing with one finger. lol Tried braces, pt, etc. before surgery. I spend about 6-7 hours a day on computer at work, then I quilt at night and do home improvement projects, so not much rest for my hands. Surgery was the best option for me.

Just had arthroscopic release done this past July---absolutely amazing outcome. Once the tunnel is compressed---it's compressed--I was told you can prevent it from getting worse but it doesn't get better. I wore a brace for 2 years, it helped, but it never goes away (must add, I had the release done 15 years ago---and that "butchering" was what caused the 2 year delay---sorry I waited. Technology has come a LONG way!!! Able to move my fingers immediately after surgery, back to work (medical office receptionist-phones, appts (all done the old fashioned way--writing), typing, filing) in 2 weeks.

As a quick stenographer (that's shorthand brief forms for you that are unfamiliar with early secretary days of taking hand dictation), a fast typist, a rag time piano player and eventually a computer tap dancer (LOL). I too had to quit my job because of carpel and other joint problems. While still working, the company sent me to three specialists and I tried everything from heat physical therapy (dipping in hot wax) to muscle relaxing techniques. I did not want an operation. Yes, I wore the braces at night and some while on the computer. To this day, I occasionally get them back on but generally just stop doing what I am doing, take IB and hope for the best. Prayer works pretty good too!
When I retired, I purchased a machine which tied, cut the threads and raised the feet automatically. What a blessing as I am able to continue my charity quilting of 20 to 25 quilts a year plus other projects. Quilting in retirement is good but watch the clock and stretch those fingers.

WOW Ya'll are soooo helpful! I see the Dr. again on Fri. & I think that I'll ask him to send me to a neurologist. I see my Chiropractor for my back on Mon. so I'll ask him about my hand then. My biggest fear is about hand quilting. It's my favorite part. I bought the B6 today, thanks! The brace does seem to be making a big difference. Again Thanks!
