I live in mine, just finished building two years ago. It is a log cabin with a covered porch all the way around, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, dining, kitchen, library, sewing room, and loft. No garage as it is 14 ft up on piling because I have a river at the end of my back yard, but underneath there is a two bedroom apartment also with wrap around porch that I added for my parents. And no neighbors for 3 miles!

Old houses have more charm, but new houses are so much more easier to maintain. I used to love old houses until I moved into one. And ours is only about 60 years old. Right now, I would be in love with a house with central AC, more windows, and not so many repair expenses as we have now. I do love my covered front porch, though.

10 to 20 acers with house built in the middle, lots of trees and plenty of water! A large garage shop for 2 cars and enough room to set up and use our lg tools, DH and I like to wood work and he is now in the process of restoring a 1960 Aloha travel trailer in our shop. The house 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath, mud room, pantry lg enough to keep my freezer and extra frig in(I hate running out to the shop to get anything) An open floor plan. Must have a ex-large bonace room(for sewing and other crafts) and my DH needs an office to. All this must be on one level because my knees do not like all the staires we have in our house know. Almost forgot must have a covered porch front and back, a creek or some sort of natural water to attract wild life would be nice to, if Im going to dream I'll dream big! LOL

Funny how once you move into your first home, you realize what you really wanted.

I want to dump my 4 bedroom 2.5 bathroom central staircase colonial for a ranch with no steps, no basement, and an open floor plan with some nice built ins for computer for DH and quilting for me. I want a beautiful stone patio out back and a covered porch out front. I hate getting rained on while trying to unlock the door. I want somewhere out back to bbq and hang out. I am a minimalist and want to be able to clean my house in an hour a week. Laundry room on same floor as everything else. I hope to sell in 5 years and get what I am looking for

Oh yeah, and no mortgage attached would be nice. NJ property taxed are almost a mortgage payment.

A Swiss chalet set on an acreage with stables converted into a wood working shop for my sweetie. The property is completely fenced in for the kids and pets and the neighbours are all friendly and stop by to chat on horseback.

Lucky for me I just described my home!
