like Peckish, i have holes in the top of mine and hang them on finish nails on the side of my cutting table. there's plenty of room for all 4 sizes right on top of each other

Mine are on top of the refrigerator along with several of the rulers. Very convenient since I cut on the kitchen counter and sew in the dining room.

Never tried that, I would not want everyone walking on it.

I agree this could be a problem with rulers, but the cutting mats are more flexible, so breaking is not a problem.

I have mine all laid out in my sewing room in various areas. Next to my sewing machine, on my cutting table. My lazy susan ones are between two bookcases. My extras I gave to my daughter.

LOL - same for me with the dining room table.

By 'area rugs' I mean the 9' x11' size with the 'gripper' stuff underneath to hold it in place. I must confess that the rug I store the cutting board does not have the 'gripper' stuff, but it lays flat. It's set so that most of the time no one walks on it - a low traffic area. It's weight holds it down, as do the dining room table and chairs and we never eat in the dining room.

Another good storage place, and no extra costs involved!
