This is what I do too! When I need the kitchen counter (hardly ever), I hide everything under the spare bed.

We do have a table on the rug, but there's still plenty of space for the cutting mats. I put them between the legs of the table.

I store my extra one under the bed in a bag the company supplied, works well!

Another great idea for storing the mats and rulers. Thanks!

Of course I walk on the rugs, but not very much. There is an area of hard wood flooring between the DR and living room that gets most of the foot traffic.

Mine stay out. I would not want anyone to walk over them so your solution would not be good for me. If I needed to move it out of the way, I would hang it with the wooden clips.

That's where I store my "I am now reading this 'books and magazines, assorted unmatched sox that I can't reach, and my shoes.

I use the command strip hangers with the metal hooks, and hang things on the wall behind the doors that always stay open. The biggest mat just lays on the extra bed when not in use.

I store mine behind my file cabinet next to the wall. The space is narrow and the mats are upright and have never bent, perfect spot for them.
