Nancia pepper jelly is marvelously good isn't it? I love it. now I am not a fan of mint jelly guess its on the sweet end no excitement lol. Jaba not sure why he liked the other one better did you have a batch of that already done? I think the ones we made were raspberry only? I guess the strawberries come out more with the rhubarb but not sure I would want strawberries on my steak. for some reason the other berries work better in a savory fashion to me. dorky me I know. I like a peach compote with pepper in it too.. great on pork. might try to work one of those up.. guess I will have to go find some peaches now.. they are so much less fun to cut up. but I need to make a batch of spiced peach jam with candied ginger and cinnamon. oh yes. guess it truly is 'that time of year'. wonder what our farmers market has?

I think she said there were either 6 or 7 different peppers in it, including jalapenos. She puts it over cream cheese & then scoops it with crackers. She went canning crazy about a year ago and will can anything. I brought her a case of peaches home from south GA when I went to Jacksonville, FL to visit my family a few weeks ago. There is no telling what she made out of them.

Nancia, I'll see if she still has some more left & if she does, perhaps I can liberate another jar from her for you.

The strawberry one was the small trial batch, then we did raspberry and tweaked it remember? Anyway he liked the strawberry taste and it was great on the bar-b-qued chicken last night. Sounds like you have all kinds of hot coming your way nancia, when's dinner?

Yes, we do that with the raspberry chipotle sauce from Pampered Chef - we don't heat it up though. Pour it at room temp (or fridge temp) over a brick of cream cheese. It's called "cowboy caviar" - we've used other sauces for that too, but my husband really likes the pampered chef stuff. Me, I don't eat it. Not my thing. Plain chips with plain salsa (through the blender cause I don't like chunks) and I'm a happy kid.

I'm a fan of the green pepper jelly on cream cheese; I have a girlfriend that makes and brings it to parties - it's mighty tastey. I like some fruit with peppers - I've had the hot peach salsa but have never tried making my own - I like strawberries and rhubarb together - speaking of rhubarb my neighbor has a huge patch and asked me to come pull what I want - I see rhubarb crisp on my weekend menu. I'm going to see if I can still get goosberries plants and try and raise some of those - love the little sour berries - they make the best pie. Kelly, our 'Cowboy Caviar' is made with black eyed beans, corn, g&r peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro and zesty italian dressing (could be missing a couple of ingredients not sure) it's the best with tortilia chips. We like to make fresh pico with chips - Good thing lunch is soon - reading and talking about snack food is making me hungry.

I've never made it all green. I used to mix it about half each green & red.

ok, so i can't type! my fingers have a will of their own since i developed essential tremors. so sue me@ LOL!
i was wrong on more than spelling. it is centerville barbecue between houston and dallas. those of you who do not want your pickles bumped around by goats and sheep, can order bread and butter pickles and look for the one with peppers. it's not too hot, really! i can handle 7 on a scale of 1-19 and these fall in at 4 or maybe a weak 5. tasty with a kick.
jaba, you just keep teasing me on! lol! my mouth is already watering!!!!

I make a horseradish refrigerator pickle that tastes kind of like bread and butter with a slight kick - easy to make and last a long time in the fridge. I love hot wings - tomorrow is 'Wing Wednesday' at one of the local watering holes and they sell their wings for fifty cents a piece - hot, sweet hot, bourbon glazed, plain - yum. There is a restaurant in Owatonna that sells hot wings that are so hot most can't eat them - what a waste of good wings; I like spicy but not five alarm hot.
