oh no you have stents too? I am so sorry but thankful for these crazy inventions they have. I have to have my new graft in my arm only three months old ballooned open as its closing up not effective. they said its a predictor of future behavior so probably every 3 months. marvelous.

Thanks for working on my pumpkins so fast. I have only three of those blocks finished but figure four to six a week and I will get them out in good time. I am only doing one boom this time. I did two last and so far only put one quilt together of the two. I am going to do a mystery quilt next time I think.. get the top done and then quilt it during the trade time.. much better concept just hope that someone will want something I made prior to finding out what they like boom quilts are lovely but I wouldnt have made it right? that is not what this is all about. besides I am liking your quilt rather well. the colors feel good. I am telling you right now that zippy color I bought I am not feeling it. I am thinking I have to go fuschia not gold/orange. unless I can find another way to incorporate it its history zoom fling right out the window with that plan. one block and it screams stare at me..not what I was hoping for.. more a pop than a scream is ideal. especially at the pond.

In my last posts, i was bragging about the number of seams I had sewed after the crazy search for a little more of the fabrics i needed. Today I decided I was going to work on getting my previously completed pieces appliqued to the background so that hopefully in a week or so,they would be ready to join into a top and be ready to layer nd quilt. So i got out the background material and carefully cut my 7" background squares that the pattern called for and got ready to applique the first block. Appliqueing is not my strongest point so knew it would take a while to get them all done. However, I find it is going to take much longer than I had planned. I carefully laid the applique piece on the background only to find it the wrong size! Quickly referring back to pattern, I found the problem. The instructions state to make templates according to "Quilter's Schoolhouse Pages" which clearly stated "add seam allowances to your applique pieces if hand appliqueing". I had done exactly that which is why i had that maniacal search for more of the fabrics. I had taken my freezer paper and slapped it down on the pattern and traced it and added seam allowances and had cut all the pieces and did the preliminary sewing as stated. Only when I looked at the pattern piece in the magazine--Lo and behold--it already has seam allowances! No wonder they dont fit the background blocks. Mr Rippit and I are going to be having a grand old time in the next few weeks.

oh honey your just in the wrong boards.. this one people are actually sewing lol. the other forums are rather lively no one is getting anything done. I know I am in them and one of the procastrinator. in the FQ swap for Feb we did a pet parade of photos of all our critters while we were waiting. I was at this website this morning and well they are selling this calendar. its called MEN QUILTS AND SPICY BURRITOS. what? of course I look. these are muscle guys no shirts quilts strategically drapped and well a burrito in their hand. RANDOM. that guy in front however.. he has a nice.. quilt on his lap. I thought about the thought process to make this calendar. its a charity for Cancer calendar but burritos? really? I would buy it just for the.. quilts.

on a serious note (ha ha) I have cut all the pices to my quilt!!! I am so happy. This will make it much easier for me I think. I am using the Mystery train approach even though I know what I am making (well somedays) do all hst first an so on and for me this will speed it up I hope. I am all about speeding things up before I get nervous I am not done. Hence why i dont come to chat here much so many of you are done and I feel like AHHHH only one row done! things should move along faster now I pray. when I am not checking out quilts on calendars (uh huh).

You have a safe trip marytoddliz. Love that name. Glad you mom is better and things are done for a bit there. Remember that table runner. LOL

I am finally getting over the cold/flu so that is why I have not been on board much. My back is getting a bit better, meds are alway fun and PT is a challenge, but hopefully will be the trick. Just now getting back to sewing a bit. Was a whole month that I jus did not have any energy to do much at all, just my row robins. But Linny will be getting some sneak peaks soon.

Good luck in Oregon. Enjoy the weather for me. I'm missing being up there, even to visit. Been WAY too long!!! Be safe and stay warm.

Pinned and sewed 56 seams last night. Pinned a few more to sew tonight, if my lil one really isn't sick. Poor lil guy just turned 3 and has a very nervous tummy like mommy. Poor lil man was sick this morning...kept telling me, "Mommy, I throw up" and then I'd get him to the toilet and sure enough...gotta love the draining stuff in the morning. But afterwards, he said all better. Hopefully he will have a good day...

Yosa, Boston Harbor in Billings, Montana has some herbs that are great for that nervous tummy and have no side affects except making you better. I order them up for my daughter as well. If you get them with the Figi Tea, yum cup of tea.
