Just say no and hang up. Do not continue with their conversation. If they break you down and you say yes...you'll probably get billed for something you dont want. YOU and only YOU have control of the phone when someone calls. So just say no and hang up. Now how hard is it to hang up the phone.

Happy Mothers Day... I got a call like that a few weeks ago & said I wasn't interested . I had won a new furnace & central air condition. When I said I wasn't interested he said it was for free that I won & I still said no thanks, Yes I did win & NO it didn't cost me anything . so now I will listen before I hang up.. It will be installed next week. My unit is 20 years old so it is time for a new unit. I filled out the information at a home show.

My husband had a company keep calling him over and over and over. The last time the guy called he told my husband that he had to listen to what he had to say. Well my husband told him where to go. But lo and behold on his charge card bill there was an entry from this company, the guy went ahead and charge what ever he was offering on the card. Husband took care of that in a hurry. Just goes to prove that you should look at every charge on your card.

I hate it when subscription renewal notices make you look like a "deadbeat". Outside of envelope has something like "Third and final notice!" I have sent renewal notices back with "not renewing" written largely across them but evidently that doesn't cross with the renewal "bug" dept. One actually sent me a letter "scolding" me - she said "this is my 4th notice to you!" It made me so mad I called them - and to which I got the standard reply "if you don't want to renew, just ignore them and toss it!"

If you want a funny one -

We were out and got an auto-telemarketing call and our answering machine took it - - - now, our answering will "listen" and record for as long as the line is activated - - - - and the automatic telemarket message will yack for as long as a line is listening. We got home from shopping and had just chuckled over the chat they had while we were gone!

I know how you feel. Usually, I am not a grump, but when someone calls me to sell me something, the grump appears. I had a call this week and I said, I'm not interested. The gentleman kept talking. Again I said I'm not interested. After he kept this up for the third time, I thoutht perhaps it was a recording, I said, AM I SPEAKING TO REAL HUMAN, OR A RECORDING? He said, I am a person, and sounded surprised that I would even ask. I then said, what part of... I'm Not interested did you not understand? I then said, have a nice day and hung up. Really, I didn't feel good, because of the way I reacted. Why can't they just be courteous and go away?

This is EXACTLY what I do.
