How much would you charge for an applique quilt like this in queen size?

Eddie is she supplying the materials? Or are you doing this from start (shopping for fabric) to finish (quilting & binding?) If so do you machine bind or hand bind? All has to be factored in. Did you do the orginal one for her? If so take what you charged for it and figure what the costs were and go from there...hope this helps. Plus add on X amt for the shams...Your quilting is so very nice..

I always try to be honest to myself so I don't end up working hard for nothing. First I asked if at all possible for them to supply the fabrics. This gives the customer an appreciation for the cost of the materials alone. I went to The City Quilter and came out with no fabrics after seen what fabric is going for.
I then think how much I would be willing to pay for it. I know the effort, time and expertise required to come up with a piece like that, and the amount I would be willing to pay for it is never low. Also, if you feel resistance, remind them that due to the nature of the quilt you will be making, they are getting a piece that will be impossible to reproduce. Copy, maybe. But never reproduced in its entirely. On top of that they want pillow shams, I say $1500 or no quilt for you. I have sold quilts much simpler for close to that.

One question...Did you applique the leaves after the complete background was pieced? For that alone I would charge even more. That is not easy to do.

I agree, not less than $1000...$1200 is reasonable...shams can cost $50- $100 each for labour if you go to a bedding place...if you were to have it quilted the way you are planning to do it, what would it cost..add that to the price of the fabric..and the rest of the labour cost for piecing...
i have the same problem when I am pricing custom drapery... I just did a big job and I know I underestimated the amount of work that went into it...but each time I complete a project I learn and it gets easier...I want to be fair but I dont' want to work for nothing either..
