Exactly Jean, I also find that it can be easy to stay in your 'comfort zone' avoiding certain techniques or types of block. This is a great way to try other blocks you maybe wouldn't consider. We can add blocks, subtract, alter as these belong to us and we can do whatever we please! There are no 'quilt police' here!! Hahaha...
The other great thing is we are making these together! Help and tips are always at hand
    Hugs all!!! xxx

Welcome back Pippa! I find the more seams involved in a block then better to use a 'scant' 1/4" seam. Moving your machine foot a touch to the right if your machine allows will give you the scant 1/4" seam you need. Hopefully then you will get your 10 1/2" block... Hope this helps

So I went back over the list and didn't see any other rules but the block needed to be 10 inches and to post if we want to be in this. I am hoping basically it is mostly piecing but will go with the flow the best I can. Will post later. Thanks,

That's about it AnngelAnne, your UNfinished block will, or should measure 10 1/2". This is YOUR block, whatever block is chosen, hopefully it will be a learning experience for all. If there's a block that you think might be difficult, just holler, there's always help. There are no 'quilt police' lurking..lol If ever there's a block you don't want to tackle, skip that month and rejoin later. Hope that helps.

Thanks for letting me join Jean! Here is my Block for January. I chose a package of 12 fat quarters "Tonga Cabana" That has been sitting in a drawer waiting patiently for the right project. I will add some yardage for the rest of the quilt, but it should be enough for 12 blocks. The block is square, I just didn't get it hanging straight on the board. Laura
