I use the #1 size curved safety pins and they don't leave holes in my quilts.
I'll check the number on 'em...thanks for letting me know.

Great idea. I'll have to try it.

I just bought a bag of these! I'd never heard of them before. I have a bad back and using safety pins takes too long for me and also hurts my fingers. I hope these are as good as I hear. But they're expensive! I may have to mix in some cut up white erasers like someone else suggested.
    Thanks for the idea.

This is a little late probably because I'm sure you are finished by now. I use wonder under to baste with. I cut strips about 1 1/2 and then just cut random amounts out of that strip. Then layer fabrics. You cannot feel the wonder under at all.

I use elmers washable school glue! Works great! I use it to hold my binding in place too while I sew it. Washes right out.

really you do not plan on your table runner being washed? do you cover them with something to keep them clean? the first table runner i made years ago, i did not wash, i made it, gave it to my mother for mothers day...she loved it and used it...and she threw it in the wash when needed, being 100% cotton should not be a problem...well i did not quilt it all that well, used warm & natural, it shrank and became all mis-shapen...she was so bumbed, ironing it helped, but i felt like such a heel for giving her a gift without (doing it right) after that i always wash my finished runners to make sure they are going to behave. i do not want to give something that will stress someone out. and i use runners all over my house and they all get washed, at least before putting away when changing seasons or just switching them out.

Yes, I do wash my table runners, and plan that they can be washed. But table runners are not like clothing, don't get washed OFTEN. These are gifts from very nice fabrics given for Christmas gifts. I figure they will be washed once a year and the gold on them should hold up.

I have done this in the past; but I can feel the difference in the areas where the wonder under is. I found my basting spray so all worked out in the end. I am using Roxanne's basting glue for the binding and love the outcome.

I have a big container of earplugs left over from my (ahem...) biker chick days. Are they the same as pinmoor? They look the same in the picture.
