Here are the pieces I have ready so far. Not all of each step are done, and my colors are different then BH's suggestions.

Oh, my gosh! I was so overpressing my units! What an eye opener. You have saved me so much time and grief with that pressing tip, sewbizgirl. Thank you!! (When I think of all the poor units I have brutalized over the past four years . . .)

Ha ha... you are too funny. A lot of the time we can compensate for inaccurate sewing with good pressing.

Thanks, I am liking the colors together, my only caveat would be how plain my neutral is, but I was planning on that very busy horse fabric when I chose such a plain neutral.

I had hoped to start working on Clue #3 today since I was off work but my husband had other plans for our day so no sewing for me. Maybe after I get off work tomorrow. It should go really quickly since it's strip sets and 4 patches. Sure glad I have all the right sized dies needed for this clue for my Accuquilt Studio. The cutting won't take any time at all once I get the fabric pieces pressed. Can't wait to see how the gold plays with the rest of the units we've already done.

Kassaundra, your colors are beautiful and your "designing" is interesting. You never know how she's going to put the units together. I remember with Celtic Solstice that the first clue units were used for the outer border which really surprised me. Before the Santa Hat units were posted, I had thought she would use regular flying geese units in the quilt design to represent roof tops similar to some of the photos she has shown. Now I'm not so sure about that.

I'm in a quandary over my clue#2 neutrals. The ones I really like with my reds are pretty dark. I'm wondering if I can get away with using these darker neutrals for clue#2 and go with the lighter ones everywhere else? I suppose I could hold off sewing the neutrals on in the hope of learning more. I saw a block layout posted on the Quiltville page that seemed like a good possibility. But maybe that's a sure sign it isn't the one, lol.

I'm too excited about using my cheddars. Here are my first 1/3 FourPatches. I'm in heaven!
