Would you believe that I totally forgot about the clue till just now! My adult children think they still need their stockings for Christmas so I made the stockings and then went today to get the goodies to stuff in them. Have them all done, wrapped up the little gifts and candy and then stuffed them in the stockings. They are in boxes ready to be mailed off. Now I get to play! I love the gold and with the red it is going to be so striking. Also I am ecstatic that I finally got the Go! for here and I have the 2 " strip die. Yay! This is so fun!

Glad to her I'm not the only one who had issues with these. I have 2 more sets to go although I did make 4 extra sets with a tourquiose blue in case I can pop them in. Also cut some blue squares to pop in with the black if it works. Won't know until we are further along. Did cut strips for the 4 patches this morning before I took my mother Xmas shopping.

I just put together 6 of clue #3. I LOVE scrappy but it gives me a headache trying to make sure it's scrappy enough. I did love the lesson about sewing with the pressed seam up. I wish someone would have told me that a year ago! :P

pressing and sewing in consistent manner. I always wonder why I can't think of stuff like that myself...

I remember in the late 70's about going into cardiac arrest when a friend was making 4 patches and chain piecing the units. YOU CANT DO THAT. Why? she said

We've come a long way baby

I liked that tip too, about sewing w/ the seam pointing up on the top one. Worked like a charm, but so far I only have 29 sewn, but I am still working on the decap geese from last week.

Making progress but making 120 of these is a bigger job than I thought it was going to be!!! Likely won't finish until tomorrow, other thing to do today too.....

When you press them, put one of the neutral 2" x 4.5" rectangles down under them and press to that shape. You can't go wrong, (unless you cut your neutral recs badly!)

I had less of the cheddar gold than my other colors (it's hard to find!) so I needed to find a few more before I cut. One of my quilting friends was kind enough to let me pillage her scraps for some cheddar, so I have a few more. I think I want to finish up clue 2 before I start 3, tho.
