Sorry, you have to scroll down, it's red and blue in the middle of the quilt pics.

I also don't think our lovely headless geese will be cut up. Too much work for a quilt that will have tons of work in it anyway. But what fun if we do. I'm thinking our neutral bars will be snowballed with last weeks squares. But...the numbers do not work. So, really, I have no clue.

The more I thought about it the more I liked the guess of using the geese pointing to the center and strips to form t's or x's depending on whether it is on point or not, but then I got to thinking she made a point of all the reds being the same in the set of 4, for that to matter the strips would have to be the same red and we didn't set any aside, so .............. But on a non guess note, my step 2 is complete! yay!!!

I also love that soft gold, Bluebonnets!
The geese did seem quite peculiar when the clue came out, and aren't they kind of a large piece for a Bonnie quilt? I think this lends weight to the cut-in-half theory.
Clue #3 is such fun. I really like the short strip method; it allows for lots of variety but also speeds things up a bit.

All interesting theories. I am still in the "not going to cut the headless geese" camp. Technically the good is actually a trapezoid shape w/HST attached. I tried googling Trapezoid Quilt Patterns but didn't really see anything that I thought would work with the other pieces.
Off topic.... does anyone ever participate in Merry Mayhem's New Year's Day Mystery? The parts list is out.

LOL have done Merry's mystery in the past ....new clue every couple of hours......not this year for me...have a Grandson playing in the Fiesta Bowl. plan is to celebrate victory the rest of the day.
Not in the sliced santa hat camp, but would be ready to slice the neutral bricks.

I live in NWOhio which is strongly OSU but DH and I are ND all the way! I am going to try & do the mystery but might just have to watch the pre-game extravaganza.
Either way I hope it's a good game and I hope your Grandson has a great day!
