And here's a pic of a solid center with pink or black. Not sure I like them any better, but using a solid does tone it down some. What do you think?

I like your aqua center and corners.
Oh my....I picked up the wrong stack. Thanks for pointing this out.
Here's the corrected version.

Belfry, yours too shows the stars nicely.
Thanks Nanny and Susan for all the pictures with different colors. Lots of things to think about.

I just can't start sewing. It's more than busy to me, it's chaos, and it reminds me too much of my desk where I can't find anything. In this case it's the stars I can't find. I even tried it without the green sashing. I think if I were to use the all pink center I would make a four-square so it too would be scrappy. But I kind of what to stay true to Bonnie's concept because that was why I joined in. I'll wait for more ideas before deciding.

LOL it is chaos .....I think many of us are trying to find ways to tame this beast!

I don't care for any of the colored solid centers, but I liked the picture with the white center square. Maybe a nice white print as the center?

edit

whitepine, I'm not having trouble seeing your star.

I have yet to fall in love with this but a determined to get her done. I only made two blocks with the pink center and just made a block with a white center. I can use the pink centers either in the quilt or on the backside. Maybe ever other block with a pink or all solid white?
thankyou all as we work on this monster.

I love that white centered one! Yours doesn't look all that busy to me, nanny's dollface. I think the gray neutral in there has a calming effect.

One good thing about this design is if your points are cut off or your seams don't match NO one will be able to tell!

With that much pink it seems to me to be turning into a girly quilt. I can't decide what I am going to do until I get more blocks done.

Belfry, I think I like the black centers in yours the best so far! I know what you guys are saying - way too busy!

Well, I've got a full block done, all the sashing ready to add to the blocks & part of the blocks put together. Although I like the idea of the solid centers that some of you have chosen, I'm going to stick with the layout Bonnie did. I'll post a pic later as I haven't taken one yet.

Thank You! I was afraid I was the only one. I pulled fabric in the beginning but decided to hold off cutting. I have all the instructions printed in case I decide to make it in the future. I'm interested in seeing what it looks like with the the ones who made it with more controlled fabrics and in different colors. I do not like the pattern in the original color choices. I'm glad I decided to wait. I have yet to make a scrappy quilt. I'll be thinking about the next MT quilt.
