Allietare! - Bonnie Hunter's 2015 Mystery Quilt
#1273
What a surprise to see "The Reveal" appear in my inbox! I can't say it's a quilt I would have chosen to make if I had known the end result, but it did stretch me as a quilter. I think it will grow on me! I hate blocks set on point! So hard to wrap my head around... But I'll trudge through to the end and have an awesome quilt I would not have otherwise attempted.
Can't wait to see everyone's finished tops!

I am loving the reveal!! Can't wait to start working on it tomorrow!! I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone's quilts also. The steps have been so much fun (albeit lots of groans)and challenged me to stretch my skills and patience
Happy New Year to everyone!!

A reveal with a music track....awesome......and a beautiful quilt........answer to question about range of neutrals...can only answer for myself...all are white on white or very pale icy blue on white, in my Allietare!

Oh it's so beautiful, love it! I won't be able to work on it till next year, lol. But the wait will be worth it. Next week sometime but oh how pretty it is! Can't wait to see what my toned down golds, darker grays, reds and lighter neutrals do to the overall picture. Gonna love it!!

Now that you can see the quilt, you'll be able to choose your neutrals with some understanding. I believe the reason Bonnie specified to stick to lighter neutrals is because in clue #1 it's important for the neutral to contrast with the gray, and in clue #3, it's important for the neutral to contrast with the gold. I don't think having lighter neutrals is as important in clue #2 or clue #4, where they are next to red and black, and maybe the same with the big neutral pieces in the border. In Bonnie's introduction to the quilt (which you can find by clicking on the 'Allietare' tab at the top of her blog), you can see some of Bonnie's neutrals and read what she has to say about it.

Get Fit
I have had a Leslie Sanzone DVD for about 4 years now and I love it. I can exercise inside with the AC and a ceiling fan in August in Florida without dying from the heat. I can do 1, 2, 3, or 4 miles with this one CD. I love to quilt, knit, crochet, and read which means I really have to get exercise.

I've got all the final pieces and border cut and ready to sew. But today (and probably all weekend) is moving day! DH and I will be moving sewing machines out to the new shed. I'm really excited to be getting my dining room back, and more organization in my sewing room.

I have cut all my center squares and started putting some blocks together--pretty easy for that part. Can't wait to see how everyone's looks, especially those of you who were bold enough to use other colors!!
