Featherweight questions

It looks like it is in good condition. Is there anything else? Like the cords and foot pedal. The Featherweight came in a case with an oil can, additional presser feet, the cords and the book. The machine sat on the bottom of the case and a shelf set on top with everything in it.
If it is just the machine you can buy the other items, but I would certainly keep the bidding amount fairly low since you can't test the machine without a power cord and foot pedal.

It has the power cord, case, a box of accessories and the foot pedal. It's too late to test it. The preview was Saturday. It has no photos of the underside, so I don't know if it has a bobbin case. It looks pristine to me. There seems to be only one other person persistently bidding on it, but you never know how high they will go or if the machine is as good as it looks. I swore I wouldn't buy another sewing machine sight unseen, but I broke that rule with a Pfaff 130 since that declaration. They never look as good in person as they do in the photo.

Looks like it has been well cared for. I would check the bobbin and be sure it is in a case, and that it fits. When I got my featherweight, I didn't realize what a pain the bobbin can be. A technician who knows featherweights can take them out and take the mechanism apart fine. I learned never to mess with taking the entire thing out, as you have to know how to put it back together!
Bet you will enjoy it I you decide on it

It's newer than 1952, and the case probably is the one with the side mount accessory tray. Nice looking machine. Since it has everything else, odds are that it has the bobbin case but that's always a gamble. You'll have to let your heart (or your head) decide how much you want it.

I bought one on Saturday at our local quilt auction. They have this twice a year. Last auction this same person sold another one. We talked with her and found out this is the 3rd one she has sold. She had 7 yes, that is SEVEN, of them and just felt it was time to let someone else enjoy them.
The one I bought was the oldest one she had, 1937. It smells like my grandma's house...that sort of rancid oily smell that smells....smelly. It had everything except the oil can.
I named her Judith Anne after the woman that sold her. I paid $300.00.

I also bought (shame on me) a Singer 99K with no foot pedal, no power plug in, and no cover on the bobbin. I looked on line and saw that there were many that were missing the cover on the bobbin.
Took it to the Amish repairman here. He has the parts and will clean and oil and tune it up for total of $80.00.
I paid $15.00 for the machine. The wheel turned freely. I just hope it is not a boat anchor.

Cari, how do you know it is newer than a 1952 model? I have to check the serial numbers out to see what year a FW is, do you see something in the photo that lets you know this? Just curious. From the picture it looks like it is in very good condition. I love my FWS.

I thought it was worth $300.00, but when it hits $300.00 the bid increments increase to $25.00, so the next bid was $325.00. Since I had not actually seen it or tested it, I thought it was time to quit.
I'm not Cari, but I think it's the badge. I found this yesterday while researching featherweights.
