It's the same old elf that keeps showing up! I mean ME! Wouldn't it be fun to "beam" ourselves around? I would love you coming over but I will settle for this contact until the young people figure out that "beaming" thing.

    :D

Why don't you make a DVD of the class and sell it for a set price and we can purchase it for ourselves. Then we could play it when we need to. Renting it would only be for a short time and I would want a copy to refer back to.
How soon can we get one. I'm ready now. I want to do it now.

I will have a DVD of the class and a download and a rental. All three just as fast as I can make them. I film on Wens. and the videographer said it would take 2 weeks to edit. I plan on nagging him to get it done sooner.Poor guy, he had no idea what he was getting into with me....and all of you!
If you want to do something while you wait, for the DVD, start looking for your picture. Here are the main things for your piece to be successful.
    1. High contrast. If your picture is too much of the same color and same value, it will be difficult to create with this method.
    2. Chose a picture that has a distance perspective to it. In other words, something close, something in the middle distance and something far away. A road, a path, a river passing through the scene can give you perspective. Mountains in the distance help as well. Landscapes and flower gardens are the easiest things to create for your first piece but people have been successful with their pets IF the pet has high contrast in his markings. I have found great inspiration in my gardening magazines!
A good way to judge your picture ( in other words "does it have enough contrast?") is to make a black and white copy of it with your printer. Can you see all the main parts of the picture?
There, that ought to keep you busy for a while!

Maybe I missed it, but after you quilt on the tulle what then ? Just leave the tulle in place? I think the fun part would be making the confetti ! Need to think on this one for a bit !

You bind the edges and have the adult beverage of your choice!

So, tomorrow is the big day. Filming to start at 10. 10 to 2. Seems like a long time to me but I know nothing about this filming process. I spent most of the day today teaching Confetti and I will be showing you their finished projects in soon. By the way, I am changing the name of this process. I am going to call it
"Painting with Fabric". I think that says it all!

    The video update -
Filming is done and editing starts. I should have the first draft soon and I can hardly stand the suspense. I offered to pay extra for air brushing. You know, where they make you look 20 years younger and thinner!! LOL We'll see what we end up with. I'm getting cold feet at this point. Like any artist, there is a moment of panic before a reveal. Will they like it? Who do I think I am? Maybe this isn't as great as I thought it was,,,etc. I am brave, however, and I will charge ahead. My father, the US Marine, would approve.

Such nice work by your students. Thanks so much. I have to admit after reading everything you instructed, I went ahead and did some "artwork" on my own. I will post a picture soon. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and am reasonably pleased with the outcome.

I knew when I gave out the instructions for this work that many of you would go ahead and make this "art" on your own.And good for you. However, I also knew that there are those who prefer more instruction and direction who will wait for my video. We all share the things we learn don't we? Even so, there are plenty of people that want an instructor to make things clear, to assist when a roadblock pops up and to cheer them on when they are unsure. That's where I come in. Be sure to show us your result. Even though I wasn't standing there with you, I had a hand in your "artwork". Show me!!

I started simple with my first attempt at a Confetti Quilt and I did use a spray adhesive that helped me a lot. Next I want to do a picture of Lake Michigan. Thanks for introducing this to everyone. What do you think of my first attempt? Linny

I see I'm still not a very good photographer.

No, you can speak for me too! I am so intrigued! This is going to be one awesome project. I don't think you can go wrong. Seems like the kind of project that no matter how it turns out you can just say, that is how it is suppose to look. (-; I love it! Very excited to get started.
