yes - I was just calling the light a neutral for the scrappy, but you are good to go.

    RJ - looks good
I always wash in warm and dry flannel twice, it shrinks and distorts so much. My first quilt ever had a flannel back. Cried the first time I washed it. No one told me to prewash. And I never had sewn with flannel.

What do you think, Judy? Before I go into major production, I want your honest opinion. I can always go to plan B.
I like this very very much!

So Judy, you want me to pair all my scraps with the teal fabric I chose to make the HST’s right, not make all the HST’s just out of scraps. I’m sure I’ve got this the way you want but thought I’d check.

Thanks, cheesehead. Your hsts look awesome. Well done.

Thank you Judy for your enthusiastic endorsement. I will be sewing like crazy tomorrow.

RJ, I really like your fabrics. They don’t look like flannels.

Don’t tell Judy , but I use unwashed flannels all the time for preemie quilt backing and have never had a a disaster.

That said, take her advice. Better safe than sorry.

I have promised for years to make a Christmas quilt for my youngest daughter for. Finally I am starting one and have picked out this one to do. For some reason I can't do a photo so hopefully I can learn how to do it again this afternoon.
Thanks to everyone for sending photos. They are all so beautiful, I really enjoy seeing them.

JanieW...I got these flannels from a quilt shop in Utah that was going out of business about 6 or 7 years ago....met the owner while playing Cribbage on line---discovered we were both quilters...and we spent the day with her sending pictures of the fabric and me buying it....and then she shipped it to me....very nice heavy flannel.

Sounds like a fun way to shop, RJ!

I had so much fun cutting squares of scraps yesterday for the HST. I think this is going to end up being a bright and happy quilt. I'll post a picture once I have some done, hopefully by the end of today.
