I actually called the repair place yesterday - after bringing it in the 5th, picking up the 11th, finished unquilting before sewing on it the 14th, brought it back the 15th and waited while they made 'adjustments' it seemed 'fine - albeit not perfect'...shouldn't have taken it back [an hr round trip] sewed with it on the 16th - yesterday in the early afternoon, for about 15min. I called the place and said I felt like throwing the f....ing thing out the window!

I took it back right away, sat there and sewed on it with them for at least an hour and it worked on and off...

$3K piece of sh.... I think I may have found a lemon of Bernina's - they called a while ago and said they now have it messing u[ with them constantly too - actually intermittently - which is harder to diagnose. They spoke with the Bernina manufacturer directly and explained all the technician settings and diagnostics had been run and verified - still dont know what it is. Apparently there is a district troubleshooter that goes around to authorized Bernina techs for "problem children" ahem.... as mine has been determined to be...
from there if they dont get it fixed it will go back to Bernina!

At least it sounds as though they are willing to address the problem & they recognize it isn't my fault [and hopefully wont charge me for ala 'limon' !! :-(

whoa, gusgus! I would be saying soap-worthy words too, with all that trouble!
i wouldn't admit to it, but I'd probably say them! ;-)
Did you say that window adjective over the phone? lol?
Bet they got some attention!
9-1-1, lady in a fit on phone. Using the BIG one!
    The "BAD" machine, words
That Bernina needs more than a spank. It caused you untold ripping!
I hope they just go ahead and give you another, cuz that one has bad memories, now. (((hugs))), hope it is all resolved soon.
I'd have to run out back and swear, at mousehouse, cuz my sewing room is so packed, if I did in by my machine,...I'd stain a lot of fabric, with my turning the air blue!

Candi, hope you tookus is ok! tell dh to kiss it for ya... ;-)

While browsing [because I dont feel like doing housework and I'm pouting without my machine...] I came across Edyta Sitar's "hop to it" pattern [I've actually had the book a while]

But this time I looked at it from an AOTH perspective and thought - WOW - that would make a really great setting for our blocks - different from right next to each other or on point. I know some of you are using lighter backgrounds - it would really be spectacular on those blocks with great batik square sashing set on point!!

go to this link to see a photo of the quilt on cover of her book

Cre - I intend sashing my 7" blocks but this puts a different looking option forward to think about also.

Wow, beautiful looking quilt and it does look different again done this way.

Sorry about your machine, that must be the first Bernina I have heard any bad news about, and obviously when they go bad they go all the way to the top. So sorry you got that one, I would have swore too. Hopefully the company will make amends to you, you certainly deserve it, thats not a cheap machine is it. I have had loads of trouble with my Brother, fingers crossed it seems okay now.

Oh, dear, what a sorry tale - I am soooooooo sorry for your problems, but it seems you do have a lemon, and your repair centre can't fix it. I am very pro Berninas, even though I had to have a motherboard replaced (under guarantee), contact Bernina USA and tell them all about it. If you have such a rogue, they should replace it for you. They will want to protect their good name, they charge enough for that.

Hop To It is the quilt that I just finished hand quilting It is so pretty and I do agree with the setting together of the hour glass blocks, it would do nicely for the AOTH. Hope to get some pics posted soon of my blocks. And this quilt.

Oh, I think I love that setting for AOTH! Too bad I'm so far along on mine...(this time):), but wow, that would look spectacular!

Elle...CONGRATS! We'll have to keep an eye on you, you will soon be sooo busy with your commissions that you won't have time to play with us! Really....that is great news, makes you feel all puffed up doesn't it? Well deserved too!

Cre..I'm really sorry about your Bernie...I just love mine and would be crushed if it turned sour like that. Have you had this one long? I would expect them to make the situation right...no matter what has to happen! Sure hope they do!
