DD - I have the 1500s sewing machine. I don't know if that is an older or newer one??? I love the way it sews - beautiful stitches! That quilt your DS pieced will be cherished for years! So many memories!

Janie - Oh Wow!!! That is one beautiful quilt. I just love the colors too.

QNS - So sorry for all the problems on Irish Mist. I am sure you will figure it out - probably some simple thing!

Sorry no green grass here! Thought you'd like to see what wind and snow does in NE Iowa out in the flats west of us about 15 miles. Thank goodness I live in the hills. This is a four way intersection--can you see the fence post? Where's the road? We had less than 6" of snow

This picture is about 10 miles east of me.

HOLY SNOW! thats alot of snow stay SAFE Ok!

Jeanie, YES we have the same machine I also love how it sews... I knew even before I used it that it was the "One" for me... and then I got to test drive...... OOoooooohhh
I felt like a Silly, when it finally dawned on me that it uses the SAME quilting needles as my little brother! DUH, which I have a tin full of.

I decided that I should stop putting off machine quilting! I KNOW my stitches should look better than they do, but with the limited control I have of my hands I should BE HAPPY and quilt anyways... it does not have to be my best, it can be "my best right now"
So Im going to see what I can get done with theses stupid hands! and hey maybe even make some DJ blocks that arent my best? we will see!

Have a good one ladies!

Can I come play in the snow, OK? It looks so pretty, white and clean, glittering in the sunshine. Terrible if you have to get to work or to get groceries and drive a long distance...but still pretty to look at, at least for me. Brings back a lot of good memories from my childhood; we always made do with what we had and enjoyed life as it was, not as we wanted it to be in our childhood home. We would have been sledding down those slops of snow. Now I can get cold just by looking at that picture!

Off to decide yea or nay on Irish Mist. I think I will think about it some more and bury in it a box for now. Too many things are calling my name to try, too many projects I can enjoy while my yen and yang balances again. Later. May try the Tennessee Waltz idea out that I am thinking of now. So many possibilities.

Have a good day and hope all is well in your world.

I'm still not gittin' my e-mails! Not even for the PM's. I did git my QB digest. I usually don't have time for the digest but that's the only e-mail I'm gittin'!!! Grrrrrr
Well I worked on my ladybug blocks late inta the night last night. They are PP. I want ta think ya'll for all I have learned sewin' w/ya'll. I'd have never learned ta PP if it hadn't been for the ya'll & the PC! I was thinkin' as I sewed last night that the single most educational project for me has been the PC, & that I'd have given up on the first few blocks if it hadn't been for Ya'll. Huggs

Lots to see with all the photos being posted!!
DD you need a larger eye needle so that the thread passes thru easily when going thru the fabric.. the thread pulls tight and snaps when there isn't enough room for it to glide smoothly...

Janiew, thank you so much for the pretty MB you sent...I totally forgot I was getting one and it sat in the mailbox until DH checked it out...so sorry... I hope it's posted correctly..It's called "Just Friends" from Quiltmaker Magazine. Love the hand stitching and the colors will go so well with all it's sisters...
We ended up with ice not snow...everything closed down early afternoon Tuesday and is still closed as the roads haven't been treated..I made a pot of chicken soup yesterday and chicken salad with some of the chicken that didn't end up in the pot... I'll be making a seafood dish tonite...I did play a bit with some fabric yesterday....
Everyone stay warm and dry ...What does the Tennessee Waltz look like? The "OOPS Quilt" looks like it would be fun to make. It's been so long since I posted photos I hope I do it right!!!

Honchey, good to hear from you...that block is very nice from JanieW.

Yep, I think my Irish Mist will retire for a while. Remeasured, checked angles and sewed it back together and: it sags on the outside. Life goes on; this Irish Mist is retiring back into a box until I find a solution...but not holding my breath.

QNS, when you get sagging it's because the fabric has been stretched from handling..try misting it with some water & let it dry flat...that sometimes help...
