Quiltlin, I really like that block. Willl have to try it soon!
Onalee, all will be revealed soon! I am liking this very much so far!
Looked at EQ7 and am very confused. I just remarked to my son and future DIL that I didn't want to pay $189 for software and they said they would get it for my birthday. Not sure I want it. Hmmmm.

Those are beautiful. I would lay them out in a barn raising pattern.

Wow, those are all beautiful. If you get tired of them, I'd gladly take them off your hands! I'm sure that whatever you decide will be beautiful!

Don't be afraid. You should go for it. I love my EQ. Besides being a whole lot of fun I think it's improved my design skills and saved me from a lot of design mistakes. I find it the easiest way to play with design and compare the results.

BTW, you could also use any of the log cabin designs for these blocks.

Maybe this should go into a new thread, but wondering if you need to buy lots of extra programs to go with it?

I agree with everyone else. Just put them on the design wall and play. When you see one you like - go for it! Can't wait to see the results.

Krystyna, you don't have to buy all the adjunct programs - EQ does everything all by itself. And Quilt in a Day was running it on sale for $134. If that helps any.

Although other programs are available, you can do plenty with EQ itself. Usually the other programs are specific block or quilt designs or quilting stencils. For example, I'm thinking of getting some of the Quiltmaker quilting stencil add ons. They can be used in EQ so you can preview the stencil design on your quilt. But they can also be used alone. I'm just looking for stencils that I can print out to use for FMQ. You can also download fabrics from places like Moda and Connecting Threads so you can put these into your design and get a better idea what your finished quilt will look like. Although I usually just find a color or fabric that pretty closely matches what I have and go with that.

In short - EQ by itself will keep you busy for a long time.
