Just bought 14 yards of the stuff. 4 yards for a project and the other 10 will find a use for. My bad.

i think all quilters are guilty of it.. hence the stash.... which never seems to get used except just a bit in a few pieces but we have lots to pick from...lol... and then another sale and here we go again...lol....

I can't find fabric if I'm looking for a specific one, but if I'm not, I find tons. I guess that's how I happened to have 6 shelving units crammed full from top to bottom. Oh, I love to look at it. I have it arranged by color and it's my piece of "art" in my sewing room!

I'm pretty good about buying only what I need for a specific project. I learned that things I buy on impulse didn't get used. If I have no idea for a project for the fabric I don't buy it no matter how much I like it. I like to use collections that designers have put together. Designers come up with new collections every season. I know I will always find something I like. I never put myself on a schedule for a quilt, so I can wait till I find exactly what I want. I used 2 LQSs and 2 or 3 online quilt shops, Like Keepsake Quilting and Norton.

I have three huge totes of "just because" or "screaming sale" fabrics.

Thanks CoyoteMagic for my laugh for the day (on page one of this thread). At first I thought you were serious and I thought "how sad". Absolutely I buy something if I love it and someday it might actually get used. One of my problems, I like it so much I don't want to use it because then I won't have it any more. Anyone else do that?

There must be other "Major League" fabric buyers lurking here besides me. You sandlot folks have to step up. We travel, often hundreds and even thousands of miles to add to my stash. We have been making 3-4 major trips a year and a then some less than a week trips in between. Any expenses on these trips always include various fab fabric shopping destinations. I have even had to mail large packages of fabrics home on extended trips. My favorite so far? Marden's in Maine!
If we're not traveling, I am piecing tops and making room for more stash additions! Love my life!
