My LQS had her annual "clearing out" sale. It's a really small shop and when she cleans out there are great deals to be had I've not had a chance to total up all the yardage yet.

Funny...the middle diagonal stripe is one I saw on the clearance pile. Then I remembered seeing the other 2 stripe colors on the floor and thought, wow, those would look awesome with black sashing! So I went back for the other 2 colors...even though they weren't clearance (but they were on sale!). The butterflies I bought intending them for a project, but then replaced them with something else!

My husband is unemployed right now...so I have to limit my spending on fabric. I got to enjoy this "spree" because I sold some of my daughter's too small clothes at a local consignment sale. I could be very dangerous in a LQS...which is why I stick to Joanns.

In July my LQS closed (both wonderful owners have degenerative dieases!) With the final prices 40% off, YES I bought a lot of fabric "just because". In fact, most of the fabric I buy is for that reason. If you like it, it won't be there next time. I have a large stash. I can start a quilt at a moment's notice from what's on hand, which is very good because my closest fabric store is a 150 mile round trip.

Not me, nope. Wouldn't do that. I buy them 'just in case'. You never know, right?

I sometimes buy apiece that is " just too pretty" to leave in the store. I have no idea what I'll make with it but I just have to take a yard of it home with me.

It has been my experience that if you really, really like something, get it because you will always like it. Then inspiration will strike when you least expect it and you have the stuff to go after it.
