I did name my featherweight Quinny since my husband bought her for my birthday during the year of our 50th wedding anniversary. I also call the little Disney Brother that I have, my little brother. The rest are the Epic, the "other Viking". Ect. Not names per say, but a method of differentiating them from each other.

I have two Berninas. The bigger one is Lucy, her little sister is Lavendar. No name for my serger but must get to it.

[QUOTE=cashs_mom;7646313]I'm the same. Mine are "the Bernina", "the 301" and the "Rocketeer". We are big car enthusiasts, but we don't name our cars either. However, my husband does have a tag on the key for his 34 Ford that says "Baby" [/QUOTE
My hubby has a 1929 Model A. He just calls her 'the A'. I itch to give her a name!
I have named some of my machines. My BabyLock Elizabeth is Lizzy (duh). My Singer 185J is Amy because my cousin Amy gave her to me. She said it didn't work but when I turned her around in her base she worked just fine! Amy said I could keep her! I also have an old Kenmore named Betsy because it had belonged to a lady named Betsy and was given to me by her daughter. Then there are several others that I haven't named. They await new owners. I love cleaning up machines and passing them on to others who want one.

.... but I just don't get 'humanizing' machines.
I'm in this camp....just call them by their brand names.
