I have to agree 100%. I do it to relax.
Me too, I enjoy it and do it when I wish so it's a hobby. So is writing, gardening, painting and reading for I don't do any of them for cash or for sale...I give the results away for fun.

Guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder....:)

Have to say it's more of a hobby for me now but I would love to become more artistic in creating a quilt in the future - be it a bed quilt, a throw, wall hanging, table runner, etc.

I used to paint and be more artistically inclined but don't have much extra time now except for following a pattern and maybe tweeking it a bit.

Call it what you want. I have Been quilting for 20years and I still love it. It has also been therapy for me. I can get into the zone and tune everything out.

Defination of hobby: something a person likes to do in their spare time.

Yep, guess I'd have to say it's a hobby. Why not? It's something I like to do.

As long as you're not doing it professionally and getting paid for it. I think my crochet work is a "work of art" but it's still a "hobby"
