Heck no! I doubt if he would ever want to. I would give him my machine if he'd buy me a new one. He'd get frustrated so fast....I'd end up with both machines! lol

My husband doesn't sew or quilt; however he used a surger once while taking Home Ec in middle school and made a wind sock.. so he has the 'I've used a surger' thing on me; I've never used one and I someday want one.

He will go into fabric shops with me and will give opinions. He helped research sewing machines when I replaced the clunker brother I bought for 15 bucks off of eBay (local pickup thankfully) and even asked questions about the machine that I ended up buying to replace it (Babylock Xscape) that I didn't think to ask.

Mostly though, when I run into the fabric stores -I don't drive so he has to take me everywhere- he'll sit in the car with the girls while I go in and grab whatever I need. They like to run around and touch everything.. so I try to avoid taking them in as much as possible; however he only does this when I know what I need.

The hubs doesn't sew even tho' he does know how but only with leather for shoes. He used to be a bootmaker in his younger years. He helps me pick out colors, or gives me an opinion on patterns, what works or won't. These later years, he has taken up cooking and has a large collection of cookbooks. Yep, we're round like Hobbits, so he is a very good cook. I clean up after him, that is the deal if he cooks.

No he doesn't, but he also is very supportive. He can build anything (he completely rebuilt our home when it burned) but he can't "build" a quilt. He says that is alot different measuring wood, compared to measuring fabric.

NO. He doesn't sew, iron, or shop for fabric. BUT he does encourage me. He searches for a long arm for me from time to time. He saw my first quilt (wall hanging) and asked me to make the twin size one for our grandson! He also suggested I move to the den (my sewing room, not me lol) so I would have more room. I now have part of my work (The mini storage cabinets I make as well as the other non quilted creations I make.

He refuses to even walk into my sewing room for fear of messing something up.

He cooks (some) mows the lawn, takes the trash out, helps with dishes, laundry and I"ll keep him!

My husband passed in 2008 but yes after taking me to fabric stores for years he got interested and bought a secondhand Bernina and a precut quilt kit and made it with prairie points around the edge no less. From then on he designed all his quilts and never used a pattern. I passed his machine on to a friend whose house burned down.

My husband doesn't sew but he is very supportive . He must be!!! He has never asked how much fabric I have, how much I spend or how many sewing machines I have!! He actually has a better eye for color than I do so he really comes in handy! Not sure I want to share my stash with ANYONE !!

Mine doesn't sew, he does like the fact that I make beautiful quilts. He never says anything when I buy machines or fabrics.
