I think I get in a slump after christmas because I rush around trying to get everything done on time, I am so busy and have so many committments that I find come January I just want to veg out! I allow myself this time, and I won' feel guilty about it because i have earned this veg out time. I will get back to being productive soon enough. Tell me why we have to be so hard on ourselves?

Maybe you are overwhelmed by the number of projects/opportunities. For my New Year's pledge, I decided that I would complete one project or try one new technique per month. Then I put each selected project into a gallon ziploc bag (or whatever size) with the appointed month written on the outside of the bag. Anything other than those projects are bonuses. Plus I know that my friend is going to hold me accountable for completing that one item each month.

I think we all go through this at one time or another. When this happens to me I sit down and start thinking and drawing out designs of quilts that I would like to make that gets me going again.

When i hit a wall in quilting i'll switch to scrapbooking for a minute or card making, and that usually sends me back to quilting.

I have to be truly inspired to finish a WIP or UFO. I have 2 or 3 sitting now that I can't find the "right" fabric to finish (and no that's not all I have just the ones I can't match so far). On the other hand I can pick up something new and go go go.
