Ott lamps are wonderful. I actually have at least 4 plus maybe 2 similar type craft lamps.

You are not the only one! I was thrilled to buy the new tulip shaped one in my favorite color blue from Michael's on Thanksgiving day for $17.99 (usually $59.99) There is also a coupon from OTT for a free little pocket light that usually sells for $19.99, if you send in the required proofs of purchase. A terrific deal by any standard. I put it next to my sewing machine, adjusted it every way I could but it just wasn't bright enough to throw the light as far as I needed. I couldn't stand the cool bluish light it cast off. I finally returned it.

I have two table Ott lamps (one on my husband's desk, and one on my mail sewing machine), and I have one floor lamp where I do my handwork. Love them.

Yes I now have a new ott light for sewing machine and one for desk, it has made a difference, also got some of the new light bulbs from Home Depot that are rated daylight, and they are wonderful.

I've got 2 Ott floor lamps also, and I just love them. Really helps with quilting and cross-stitching. They are on sale for 1/2 off at the JoAnne stores here in the midwest quite regularly. You can also order them online at JoAnne's. Don't pay full price!

Love the Ott lamps. I have a few. But I did find a great replica at Home Depot in a floor lamp and love it too. And it is brass, so will fit into my decor.

Dina, this lamp bulb mimics actual sunlight and gets rid of any shadows. Black is easy to sew on even at night. We have a table model on our our piano and the notes are SO much easier to see. Michael's have them at half-price sometimes also. You will wonder how you ever got by without one. My first floor lamp lasted for 15 years as did the bulb.
