quilting families
#41
Quilted with my Mom 'til she passed away. One granddaughter lived 30 miles away and we quilted together a lot. Then, her hubby was transferred out of state. Now it's just me. My DH is beginning to make noises like he would want to try it. He has helped me for years with colors matching, etc.

I am now a part of the knitters and crocheters of our county. We meet at the library and we are going to make afghans to give to the needy. While there at our last meeting I asked if there were any quilting groups that were not guilds (I can't afford to join any clubs). Anyway the leader of this group said that the head librarian was into quilts as well as other crafts and might be interested in starting a quilt group. So maybe others should ask around at their church or library to see if there are others that are interested in starting this up. If nothing else donating small baby quilts to hospitals for low income/needy families.
Just a thought.

I just sew by my self, as no one quilts anymore or they are no longer with us. My sister just gave up quilting the begining of the year. I am the last one who does quilting. I tried to pass it on but no interest in it from my Grandaughters. I have a new family of quilter's right here on this board....a wonderful fun family!

Oh you are so lucky, I dont have any family to quilt with. My DIL doesnt like to quilt, says she has to sit still too long. lol. I have 2 gds that wanted to learn all my crafts but they had to move to Fla with their Mom and Dad.....BUT I am going to meet with some other Oklhomians that are members of this Board next week and who knows we may all hit it off and become a regular thing. Wont that be nice.?
