I DID start early, but fell down the doorsteps the day before Thanksgiving and broke my right wrist, ankle and foot. Everybody is getting partially finished gifts this year. Of course, they will have to leave them with me so I can finish them when I am able. Timing couldn't have been worse, but I know there is a reason for everything.

Ouch, Mimibug, sorry to hear about your fall! Hope your recovery is progressing smoothly. And those who are receiving their gifts from you will enjoy opening them, returning them to you and receiving them again ...just like a second Christmas later! I do know what you mean and you have a clever way of describing what a lot of us go through at this time of year and even before. I usually think I'll have plenty of time, so I plan lots of projects, only to be racing to get them finished at the last minute, that is if I haven't put them in a "safe" place,never to see the light of day until AFTER Christmas. Those Gremlins are definitely at work in my sewing area. It's worth it though when the personal gifts are appreciated by the recipient of all our hard work. Merry Christmas to all and to all a quick finish to this year's projects.

Very funny post... but secretly I think you must love it. Otherwise, why would you do that to yourself?

This year the only gifts I am sewing are four pillowcases... all done. All the rest of my gifts are knitted, which I can do from the couch, watching Christmas movies and enjoying my Christmas tree.

I can relate to the pit of a sewing room. Ever cut up a really old raggedy quilt? Batting goes everywhere. I made four big stockings from the old quilt along with a rag quilt to finish and several hostess gifts to get made. I dread going into the room it's such a mess.

Thank you for the wonderful take on specialty Christmas presents. I enjoyed it to the max and am trying to figure out how to print it and tuck it into the cards for my quilt guild members. They have to know about your wonderful sense of humor and great timing. I do not think I am alone in needing such things right about now.
