Hope I have this right. Click on the settings at the top of the page, on the left side under my account click on general settings, scroll down to Misc Options & click on enhanced interface-full then click on save changes at the botton of the page. This should bring up the tool bar at the top of your replies or posts. There will be a smilie face to click on & the smilie icons will come up for you to choose. Hope this is what you needed. Smiles

    Thumbs up Love It!

I've spent this week learning how to navigate the new board, witnessing good people helping others, helping others with their questions I've found the answers for, avoiding whiney posts, and I'd just like to say that I've enjoyed every minute. Thank you, everybody !!!

Every morning I get up early so I can read the board and I have my breakfast and coffee while enjoying everyones posts and comments. I found the old site so easy to navigate and I was excited when I first saw we were getting a new look but my excitement soon turned to annoyance as too much had changed and the site was hard to navigate and took so long. A few days later and I am slowly starting to find my way around after reading other peoples helpful hints and slowly starting to (dare I say like the new look). It is hard to please everybody as what one person hates another person loves...but if there is one thing I would like to see and that is the envelope colors thing..it would be really good if we could just have a color for brand new posts as I seem to be reading old posts over and over again and with limited time in the morning before work that change would be greatly appreciated. I wish we also could have the PDA section back as that was also something I followed.

Thanks, vintagemotif. I didn't know this could be done. It is great to get rid of the long messages under people's signature...especially now that they are not minimized and take up so much more space. Remember, everyone, to go down to the bottom of the settings page and mark "save settings" before you leave the page.

Patrice, you said we have more things now , What are they , How are we safer? & what new toys? I have been here a long time & I am not going anywhere soon, It will take some time to get used to it. I find that I can't click on others things they show , but I will find out how someday . I miss seeing others quilts I don't know if they stopped that or not I just can't find them . Thanks for all you do. Just when I fell that I know what I am doing it will change again.. LOL

Oh boy! I was out of commission for a couple of weeks...and imagine my surprise when I checked back in!
A whole new look and way of doing things. I admit, I was "one of those" who saved up message boards and read a few at a time. I guess that is not possible now? I can only go back a few days, otherwise it says the link is broken...
Is each message board now going to be "time sensitive?
Also, can someone tell me if we can still "bookmark" pages? (I was happy to find all my b-m's intact!)
I can see I have a lot of new things to discover and learn - one step at a time....

Thanks from Smiles also, no offence to those who wish to use them, just my personal preference.

Patrice, I too want to thank you and apologize for those who were so mean and rude. If they are so afraid of change I guess they still have the same hair style, clothes, blue eye shadow, etc. Change is change. I didn't even learn all the
features of the old board and still enjoyed it. They'll come back with their heads hung in shame. And, even if they don't - oh well..Their loss.
Now, where are all the icons?? I miss the little smiley faces and shock and winks ...

The other day a wise old man told me if I did not like something, someone or was being critical - it said more about me then it did about them. I am still contemplating this.

My DH is in computers, and he's the pro at them, not me. I like the new layout of the site, but the first day the color was way too white. For me, with severe migranes, it's still very bright, but better.

Change is hard for everyone. I do appreciate everyones hard work.
