Elmer's School Glue ... it works for so many things!

A word about tearing fabric ... I decided to tear drapery lining to get a true edge ... I lost 13 inches of fabric, it was that far off grain and it wasn't the cheapest lining at JoAnns ... it was supposed to be one of the better ones!

Tenngal: We get them at Harbor Freight. Last time I checked they were two for 1.95 and labeled as rug cutters. There has been some discussion about the quality of the blade but I have used them for over a year now and have no complaints. If you want to find the discussion, I think if you just search Harbor Freight on this board you should find the thread.

Thought of another good tip from someone on the board, you you can find threads you've started so you can copy and paste them to make a link. I went back and found the link to Gramma's Sampler. It has most of the story and the pictures. I think I even put some of Gramma with her quilt once she got it.

I have been reading messages in this board for the past few months and enjoying everything, mostly the pictures of quilts and sewing rooms. Of course I will admit to being addicted to this site. Thanks for the suggestion to get threads at RedRocks, just got some beautiful Aurifil threads and I see the way they sew nicely into the material.

I think the best thing I learned on the board is to use Hobbs Heirloom 80% cotton - 20% polyester batting. I used 100% cotton batt once and it was hard for me to work with.

But I'm with everyone else. Lots of great advice floating around here and so much encouragement. Love the board.

Education, Education, and Education. Doesn't matter the subject, it seems I learn something with each post. Thank you to all who share so unselfishly.
